Hi,
It should be possible, since this program is entirely C# .net, to use the mono project to compile it for Linux. But I have never done so before..more info at http://www.mono-project.com...

Ok guys here is what I have together so far. Here is the contents of the README file. Hi all, I was going to make a system tray icon and UI for the tracker and for the render clients, but I don't have the time just yet, so I added the INI settings and cleaned up a couple of things, and decided to up...

Hi guys as usual work and life are slowing my progress, but I will try to get the basics together, and upload everything. -niko Russdigo, I don't know if this will fix your problem either, since you appear to have some more serious issues with network rendering and I don't know what it causing that...

That may be true, but one of the reasons I like to have network rendering is also to increase the speed of the rendering so I can make adjustments more quickly. So I don't want to wait 1 hour between updates if I'm trying to tweak the scene to look like I want :) Hence network rendering speeds up th...

Ono: The question I was wondering about is that even though we can pack the scene data and upload it to the client, during actual rendering, does Indigo pack the image data before sending it to the network master? Because during a master / slave render with an image of 1200*1600 or so, Indigo master...

Thanks Ono, I didn't know about the pack feature. Does the packing work though, during rendering frames that are uploaded to the indigo network master? Because if I render a 1200*1600 pixel image (or so) it's like 21megs of data, so its a lot of data regardless of scene transfer, so like I said I do...

dougal, that sounds good. I have lots of experience with SVN so no problem there as well :) Thanks for the offer. I threw this together pretty fast using a variety of code samples, so yes it's a mess right now, but a few days of cleaning would probably straighten it right up... As I mentioned before...

I'll probably be able to post it in a week or so, once I have added a UI to the tracker and the remote rendering client. And I need to add INI settings ability so you can change the tracker server, etc. Right now I have stuff hardcoded for testing. The only issue with it is that the master controlle...

network rendering central control program (C#)
Hi, THIS POST HAS NOW BEEN UPDATED WITH THE SOURCE CODE AND BINARIES. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE README FOR INSTRUCTIONS. I've been making a program in C# to handle networking rendering for Indigo. It works similar to a P2P program. You set up a "tracker" server on a system you know will always be up. T...

Here's another render. I changed from using an EXR for the lighting, to using a couple of mesh plane emitters. I think this one looks better (more realistic). Just have to let it render overnight now. Hmm. I think maybe the "lens" is supposed to show more? I mean, shouldn't we see the outer edges of...

Seeing is believing...Indigo..
Hi, I've been working on this eyeball for 2 weeks now, trying to get it as realistic as possible. I think it's pretty close now. I rendered this image today - it's not done rendering, but I put together this basic composition to demonstrate Indigo's rendering abilities. Modelled in Blender 2.45, usi...

Hi, It's not so easy. I tried using the fluid sim to do liquid metal before and it didn't really work too well. It never flowed quite right. The problem is that metal is much higher viscosity than water (except I hear that molten iron flow just like water) and when I tried to "pour" it in Blender, i...

Foundry 2
This is my next attempt at a foundry image. Glow and image level adjustments done in photshop after rendering. Only rendered for about 2 hrs on a core2 duo 3.1ghz machine. The liquid metal is a mesh emitter, with a texture applied to it to get some variation. So most of the light in the room is comi...
