looks like my post on the relevant forum has been quite ignored....

CTZn, what do you think: should I post somewhere else (maybe the "bugs and requests" forum), or just wait?

thanks,

Psy

I perfectly agree.

By the way, notice that a very efficient human eye can resolve 0.35 mm spaced line pairs, at 1 m: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye. So in object close-ups you definitely need to model details of .1mm...

Kram1032 ...why would you want to limit yourself to 1/10mm? I would make the exporter so that it supports the entire range supported by Indigo itself....

Hi Ono (or who's in charge for this) there is a "bug" in the material preview scene. You can find the details at http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5333 Any questions, just ask me. Cheers, Psy EDIT: if you want I have corrected the Blender scene and I can PM you the file for ...

....and I just found the problem (in the Blender file): the base and the main sphere have been scaled differently in Object mode, thus the size of their normals is different!

again: who should I notify this to?

thanks for helping me,

I confirm that in Blender the normals of the main sphere and the base are VERY different (i.e. the latter are barely visible). this explains the issue, and also shows that the problem is intrinsic to the MatDB preview scene, and not to Blendigo. am I correct? If yes, should I notify this in another ...

CTZn...how do you normalize normals..? notice that I made these previews just by hitting the "Preview" button in Blendigo.

thanks fused.

however, more strange: if i increase the B by a factor of 10 (0.01->0.1) this is what I get.

so the bump is there, it just seems "less"!

hey guys....I still think I'm right about this problem...

This is just a low exponent Al.nk with a simple jpg bump map.

what do you think? I really can't see any sign of the bump on the base.....
