Bidirectional on CPU versus GPU single-directional isn't really a fair / meaningful comparison, they are quite different and bidir gets better images for same number of samples per pixel. Hello, i wanted to try it out but seems like this beta dont like AMD Phenom cpu's, since the trial of 3.8 had worked like a charm (just to mention it). The 4.0.30 crashes just on startup. even on older INTEL-CPU's as it seems. Looking foward to further beta-states. Hi, What's your exact CPU model? ...
