Re: I'm Just Going to Ask....

Okay, thanks OscarJ. I see there is the option to go through each material and convert them individually to an Indigo Material, fair enough. Now , the next part I am not familiar with yet. :( I have an Opacity map but there is no Opacity channel in the Indigo Material. (There is also no 'Diffuse' bu...

Re: I'm Just Going to Ask....

Okay, so I see now that you can set Animation range in common, and render out frames in sequence to a folder path. That takes care of my 2nd question. But the materials, do they need to be in a certain format to be processed by Indigo? The scene I brought in to 3DS Max already has mats (not VRAY). W...

I'm Just Going to Ask....

These are the most Noob question, but I just, for the life of me, do not have any idea what to do. 1st - I have followed instrux on how to assign renderer in 3DS max, but the scene only comes up as the white mesh, no materials. But there are material in the scene in the Slate editor and Max renders ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.60 Beta Release

Hello, initial trials with GPU are great, matching CPU render quality (not seeing any blocky texture issues)
Congratulations on this release!
Awesome!

Glow Material

Is it possible to construct a light-emiting / Glowing Material from scratch, or say from an existing Diffuse or Specular? I actually tried applying a couple of the 'Lights' materials from the online Indigo materials, but none illuminate with a glow the object they were applied to, or cast light on t...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.55 Beta Release

Thanks Tony, this helps a lot. Bug has been verified and has been reported into the Bugtracker. I also noticed that your scene is some hundreds of meters big. Take care about scene scale to be life like, then your hair also doesn't need a Bump value of 1 meter ;) I also advice you to blend the hair...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.55 Beta Release

Hey Tony, do you have a simplified scene for upload that can show this effect for us? Yes, Hi! This is a scene, look at front of hair on OpenCL vs any of the CPU render modes, MaxDepthPass has no effect. Something GPU mode does differently: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jihz9wvztbam105/IPose.pigs?dl=0 ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.55 Beta Release

I did some comparisons with BiDir MLT vs OpencCL and its looking quite good. Here is an example. Raise the GPU raydepth slightly for a result that is similar to the MLT output ;) I find that for dark blotches that appear in the OpenCL GPU renders and not in the non-OpenCL CPU renders, the "Max pass...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.48 Beta Release

Speeeeeeeeeeeed!
Nice work!

Will we be seeing ability to adjust zenith/azimuth with GPU soon?
(could be really cool to see real-time updates with the sub resolution and to be able to adjust them with sliders, like the light layers!...)

Azimuth and Zenith changes do not update image while in OpenCL rendering mode.
Assuming known but just in case, still not working in .46
Best and Regards!

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.46 Beta Release

Hello!

This update doubled my render speeds.
I am blown away by how quickly now the scene build and export occurs when running a sequence of images.

To hear that there are more updates coming is very exciting!

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.45 Beta Release

I think is a bug: Azimuth and Zenith changes do not update image while in OpenCL rendering mode. Workaround is to uncheck 'Enable OpenCL rendering' and then image will properly update, and then you can turn it back on to OpenCL. Otherwise when not using OpenCL, image will update instantaneously to r...

Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark

Ono-Sendai, idea - Maybe future benchmark we could set # passes? Even if only available in an offline mode (ie not for uploading/submission to benchmark page), it would be helpful to have an organized comparative metric to see under different rendering scenarios how a GPU arrangement performs on the...
