so is the background and env-map code deprecated now? <tex_coord_generation> <spherical> ....and also <lat_long>? <rotation> <axis_rotation> <axis>0 0 1</axis> <angle>1.6</angle>...radians? the tex index means multiple .exr for 'env maps' if desired?

@smartden As long as docs exist somewhere for people to access on a permanent basis... I would actually prefer not to have things for the Blender community reside here at all and have said so in the past. It is hard to attract participation from the wider Blender community and ongoing hosting is 'un...

Well I am not so worried about who does what to it. It was impossible to get anyone to contribute to it at the time anyway. Nows your chance  Go ahead and restore it and add your bits I thought that wiki was lost for all time and now I find it is preserved out there somewhere in a useable form...

Hey smartden how come you are reusing (copy-paste) the previous blendigo wiki? If you have that preserved how about re establishing it in its entirety here first I assume either ono cant be f####d putting the wikis and tuts back up or they are permanently lost i.e. no backup or something. If people ...

yeah it has some gotchas but it could be useful in a few situations.
I think fry deserve some appreciation for making unbiased more useful to professionals who want a cost effective render.

although not strictly accurate in the manner of arctic or tropical sea water it helps get the job done

an i7 seems to be about 35% faster clock for clock for 3d CAD stuff which is mostly single core + some dual at times. just upgraded to a E8500 overclocked to 3.8 ghz for CAD but now thinking of overhauling the old box with a quad for a render machine - perhaps even i7 based if its as fast as ono say...
