Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Maybe a known bug: exporting animation from C4D plugin 3.8.26.2 the GPU mode is used only in the first frame, the next one switch back to CPU mode.

Missing materials FBX
Testing iClone --> C4D --> Indigo path Exported iClone avatar animation into FBX, imported in C4D, testing the Indigo rendering. So far using the Plugin>Render with Indigo I got the message "The scene "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Indigo for Cinema 4D\quickrender\quickrender.igs" is missin...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Added octane picture and that very same denoised Now we got covered Cycles, Lux, Octane, only VrayRT is lacking :) Nah, there are a lot of other random GPU/CPU renderers to test. I think we might just draw the conclusion that Indigo renders comparatively fast. :) AFAIK these are the mainstram GPU o...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Tried a 3 min render on my 7970 (performance doesn't seem to be very good on R9 300 series yet). Curious since 300 series is mostly a rebranded 200. R9 380 it's in fact R9 285, one of the few new architectures with GCN 1.2 but a narrower 256 bit bus. Same architecture is on the R9 380X. Will be int...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Using the article system, cutting and pasting the different images from yours (so any jpeg re-encoding error need to be systematic) cutting out all text to got realistic results, I got this image noise data (lower is better): Lux: 11.95 Indigo (lux test) 16.97 Indigo (cycles test) 17:81 Cycles: 18:6...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
SPP can't be compared between Render Engines, since they calculate samples in a different way! Time is the only thing that could be used to compare in a realistic way... Was reading this interesting article http://blog.boxxtech.com/2014/10/02/gpu-rendering-vs-cpu-rendering-a-method-to-compare-rende...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Now we need only waiting someone testing also on Luxrender, Octane, VrayRT :)

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Any more realistic scene to compare? What about achieving the same spp? :)

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
I know this is still a beta, but curios to know if someone does have the opportunity to compare 4.0.x GPU rendering on the same scene with one of the other GPU renderer available on the market. Of course Indigo will become only better from beta to stable, but I suppose will be probably not a 100% sp...

Re: New AMD card
Hope to add something useful for the discussion. News can be find everywhere, more difficult is to find "outliers" relevant news for the specific community. In some years I did assemble a small number of webzine that allow me to track the hw and sw side, possibly departing from the sites just follow...

Re: GPU render competition
Clear explanation. We can say CUDA is abstract enough to not depend from a specific hw (just to make an example I suppose on the contrary PhysX is hw dependent and cannot ported without using an hw emulation). What is ticking my brain is the fact in all the Otoy communication the first declared targ...

Re: GPU render competition
.... It's quite easy to abstact the basic CUDA stuff away and run the same C/C++ code on Nvidia GPUs via CUDA and on x86_64 CPUs (for example using OpenMP or TBB to do the data parallel part on multicore or even use some auto-parallelisation with SIMD). So I don't think that Otoy did something revo...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
A Laubwerk generated scene with a couple of characters and 5Mil poly is working, also with 50Mil poly is working (with a 15min scene building time) with Reinhard tone mapping, using the camera did remain black.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Thanks for your support on Saturday :)
About this kind of image I did want try recreate the same using C4D, so to better compare the result and the effort.
