Is the meshlight source a filament-within-a-bulb-within-a-reflector cone or is the lense itself emitting light for this scene? (iow: is it designed to be simulating a real flashlight as accurately as possible or just quick-n-dirty?) No particular reason for asking - just wondering, really...

Like it very much Kosmo. My only crits: the pencil needs rounded corners on its hexagonal cross-section (you rounded sharp corners so nicely on most everything else!) I, too, think the paper with the diagram needs some "depth", with a bit of shadow along its edge. Also, it is scaled too small. It'd ...

This, one could easily be mistaken for a photo. If you hadn't mentioned the error, I wouldn't have noticed it. Fantastic! (You entered it in the challenge, right? And it won first place, right? :D )

I find the DoF in this shot a bit out of place - the viewer's eye is drawn to the doors at the top of the stairs, but they're out of focus, so its kind of a "let down". Rather than change the DoF, however, I'd suggest putting a small eye-catching center of interest partway up the staircase (some ran...

Interesting design. Could you post the original pic (before overlay) for a comparison? Don't like the way there's no overhang on the gable ends, and the way the gutters wrap around. Maybe I'm just too practical, but those overhanging roof ends really help protect the siding/windows/foundation from w...

Some of the parts could use some small bevelling for such a close-up shot... will add a smidge of realism to this already very nice work!

...The gaps bug me, too. Someday I'll fill them in (I'm kind of busy right now), but in the mean time, like I said on BA, I was looking for a quick fix (which I don't think exists). Just some simple filler rectangles with a slightly different texture should suffice, I'd think... Now that I have mor...

Very nice work there, boweeb007! Its nice to see another user from the CAD world (old ACADer myself) "born-again" into blender/indigo! Some C&C on the pix: I find the size of the gaps between the stone components a little distracting. Is there intended to be grout there, or are they typically mated ...

Re: Indigo within Blender?

In a tutorial video of C4D+Indigo ... linky? From what I understand, the recent render pipeline recode is supposed to make it easier for the integration of outside rendering engines. (Renderman-compliance is rumored to be under consideration.) I do know that the compositor can now allow postproc wi...

Zom, I think something like this would be a great advantage! ( http://www.neatimage.com/ is the link, for those like me who didn't know what he was talking about.) A little googling turned up "Filters" ( http://filters.sourceforge.net/ ), a free library that perhaps Nick could link directly in to fr...
