I like the simplicity of Radiance's one, but its too simple, it has no thin part to show the effect of absorption and an eventual SSS. It all depends on the power of each machine. My main comp can render a given scene at 40k muts/sec while my older comp can render at 15k muts/sec. Add them by network and you get 55k muts/sec.
