Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)

now just trying to figure out how to make this thing render as fast as I had hoped.. A licensed Indigo is as fast as the demo you tried before 8) this is true... and it looks glorious. Now if only I could have afforded all that fancy lighting and scattering. I wish I wouldn't have waited until I wa...

PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)

I have sketchup 2015 non pro and wish to buy the basic Indigo RT. Do I just buy a license and it updates my already installed indigo? Do I receive the license right away? because I need it for something I need rendered tomorrow. I'm also running a windows 10 64bit build(non official) Hopefully I can...

Re: GPU recommendations...

thanks again.. and I did consider the dual card when I heard about it..was considering picking up like a 380 or 390 to hold me over until that came out... but considering it might be as much as the entire computer I just built, minus the monitor... that might not go over too well with the wife. BUT ...

GPU recommendations...

Hi all, So I think it's just about time for me to finally make a GPU purchase for the computer I built back in April. I know a lot is still up for grabs spec/price wise on the new AMD series.. But which of these would you buy? Not sure what my budget will exactly allow as of yet(we might be buying a...

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

As long as the benchmarks are here by June/July I will be okay :D

At that point I will be purchasing either a 980 or a 390x

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

I am rather excited now to see some benchmarks. I just built my computer the other day and am only rendering with my i7 5820k for now - and the results were already alarming compared to my i3 at work.

I just hope I can wait to buy a new GPU

Re: can I render over internet with home computer?

Yeah I think I'm gonna just have to practice some patience and sync a folder for rendering at home. We do use teamviewer at my work but now that I think about it more my wife won't be too happy when she has to wait inline to use our computer when she's the only one home.

can I render over internet with home computer?

Is there a way to use my home computer (5820k, TBA gpu, 16gb ddr4) to render while at work?
All I have to play around with at work, when I should be working, is an i3 with hd graphics.. not a lot of fun.

Just wondering if this is possible and how it works?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

Hopefully I won't be eating my words in a few days, but I highly doubt you can go wrong with an 8GB R9 290x :) The only way you're going to have more memory and rendering power is with a Titan X, which is ridiculously expensive. Ask kklors :D Oh, and Nvidia also finally joined the OpenCL 1.2 party,...

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

Wow, thank you both. I will be following this thread and probably all threads at the edge of my seat :D My budget right now is 'around' $400 for a gpu I was looking at an 8gb version of the 290x... And if the 970 does well, I have no problem picking up 1 of those with the idea of getting another 1 l...

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

So I have not experimented with gpu rendering because my build isn't done yet. I've only rendered with a 3rd generation i3. I am undecided on a gpu and the cpu is a 5820k Those opencl renders look amazing for a couple minutes... would an r9 290x work well with this? or is a gtx 980 significantly bet...

Re: Sketchup Error at render after reinstalling

Forgive me: I have it rendering again. But will not on my latest two versions of my sketchup file. I ended up doing a system restore(which I really hate doing on a networked computer) and am able to redner completely new/old scenes except for my latest project. Not the biggest deal in the world beca...
