You'll be glad to know the Indigo team are working very hard on some really amazing stuff for the next update. We can't quite disclose the features just yet (GPU acceleration is of course one of them ) but it's on the horizon!

I'm going to go ahead and say that the most likely scenario is that the water is simply too thick and all light coming in the small entrance is being absorbed before it makes its way back out. Perhaps some very light emitters could be placed inside the capsule, maybe making the entire inside of the ...

We've come a long way since that.

That's really quite good, not far off gallery quality. I would suggest some diffuse transmitter on the cutrians and plant (or some subsurface scattering).

Then render the whole thing 'till it's clear! (maybe you have a computer you could network?)

Set the image plane to emit light, and it won't have a shadow

I would raise the duration to 6 weeks with a concept show off after 2 weeks (pure text & maybe some drawings etc. A second WIP showoff in 4 weeks and final image after 6 weeks. Not a bad idea, perhaps make them mandatory? Could do something like make a whole forum dedicated to the specific competit...
