Windows 7 is not a coffeemachine but Blendigo and Indigo is like the pencil for an artist, and an artist wants to see the colors before he paints them on canvas ;-)

I thank you for your effort.

Kind regards

Re: Method comparison

Vray :< Wait till Indigo supports MLT on GPU or at least glass accelleration on the GPU 8) V-Ray for Blender ? I've done some tests with it, it's still pretty bugy. GPU acceleration in V-Ray for Blender (=Maya standalone with the exportscript for Blender from andrey) is not usble for production use...

Re: Method comparison

My latest testing is with glass acceleration enabled.
In my opinion this is still mutch to slow.

Re: Method comparison

OK, I see there is no way to get directlight through glass within a usable amount of time. I rendered a testscene for about 2.5 hours and I see only some very noisy areas where direckt light should be. Indigotest_01_30072011_GPU_PT.jpg There seems to be no renderer at the moment which supports GPU a...

Re: Method comparison

OK, pathtracing with GPU acceleration is still bugy (no directlight). I did a test running it about half an hour and no directlight shown. I can do a test with longer rendering, but I doubt that there will be shown some directlight anytime. Your tests probably are useles because you tested it with C...

Re: Method comparison

@Alain As stated before, all tracing methods ultimately converge to the same end result. Some just take a little longer. In case of your test scenes simple path tracing is simply not a very efficient method. While the noise in most of the image clears up pretty quickly the area behind the glass app...

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

In the meantime there is a very stable exporter for Blender 2.49 already, so maybe you should check that out. True, I forget it, 2.5 exporter is "beta" ;) You "forgot" it ? ts ts ts ;-) Can you please change the topic of this thread into "Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1 BETA" ? There will stil...

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

Is that a useful workflow ? Loading the materialpreview-scene in Indigo, setting the material in Indigo, manually copy the materialparameters to the Blender scene ? Why isn't it implented in Blender ? I'm not in Betatesting forum here, right ? I'm confused, this is commercial software and even a mat...

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

And what about material- and texture preview ?
I can't believe such a basic function is not implemented in Blendigo.

I hope I did something wrong ;-)

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

Yes I did, I installed the "normal" version of Indigo now and it starts now. But I still have some questions: -Is there no material and no texture - preview in Blendigo ? Or do I have to set materials like blind cow ? :-) -What does the error message "object has no duplis" exactly mean ? I have 2 pa...

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

OK, now it exports without an error.
But Indigo RT doesnt start. Yes, I've set the path to indigo.exe.

I've have to start Indigo RT manually and load the *.igs file there.

What do I do wrong ?

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

Ok, I'll test that.

Other question:
Is there no material Indigo-Preview in Blender ?
And is there no Indigo-Texture Preview in Blender ?

Re: Blendigo (for Blender 2.58) 3.0.10.1

Thanks, I guess I cleaned the texture part now.

But there is another error, see attachment:
Bildschirminhalt erfassen-1.jpg
What means "Object does not have duplis" ?

Kind regards
Alain
