yes that is bizarra and yes you have to do what you've written above.

Indigo needs an RGB image with grayscale values. so you need 3 color channels with 8 bit = 24 bit image but the real information is only grayscale.

Vienna: yup, I've added a switch to make it work the old way. same with linear, you can either use exposure/contrast or gain/exponent. I am talkin about Reinhard Tonemapping with the values Pre, Post and Burn. In the current Violet.exe they do not work the same way as in indigo. Did I make myself c...

I have to make a REQUEST on Reinhard Tonemapping: Please implement it this time in way that indigo(blendigos) and violets values match. So if I open the igi file in Violet and enter the same values as in Blendigo I would like to see the same tonemapped image. It drove me crazy last time I played wit...

thanks for your tips .. now it works fine (i subdivided by hand and so i save lot of polys because i placed the subdiv where i needed it.) Scene still has 800 K polys (if i can trust the number blender is showing up?!) but exporting in macos works and rendering in windows now works too. I've decided...

cant you find out how many threads the cpu can do and then split the luminance calculation? so lets say 2 threads means one thread is created for the upper part of the image and the second on is for he lower part. of course then you need to sync the results somehow and its more to code.

just make a mesh and asign a material to it and call it for example "emitterMAT".
Then go to blendigo (in case u use this) and select the material - set it to emitter and have fun.

The problem is that sun is about 1000watt per squaremeter powered so you may have to increase the gain of the emitter.

Thank you for you explaination - maybe that explains why python crashes too on windows but on the same mashine it succeeds in mac os x.

I really like it- even that dark.
On your sofa/couch there are some smoothing errors at the edges I think. did you check the normals? Maybe set another Loop Cut there (in Blender Ctrl + R does the magic)

supersampling is set to one :(
my scene is just to high poly to fit into my 2048 mb ram on set up. The questiin is why windows does not start swapping. I will try it again tomorrow but I fear i have to lower my poly counts of all my objects.

i justed watched it again and this time indigo.exe tried to use 1890 MB (I only have 2048 MB RAM real memory).

Maybe windows is unable to start swapping!? I have an empty 2048 MB swap file
