Which error do you get?

Just an idea... what about using relative Paths instead of absolute ones (ie: tex.jpg instead of C:\Path\to\tex.jpg) in the igs files?

Hum am I totally stupid or is the lamp missing in the 2nd pic and the chair standing on the other side of the table, also the (whatever it is) on the table is missing?

I've also tried to create a mat preview scene, that's what I've come up with so far...
Note that the one with the grid is the newer one

What about making a tutorial about using bump maps?
As everything I tried doesn't work (gerne auch auf deutsch )
