It would be really nice to have the image(s) from Indigo fed back into Blender to be able to do some compositing and sequencer work in Blender. It's probably possible to do so, might be worth looking in to. I agree that GPU accelerated compositor is one of those really cool features that are coming up. I'm mostly looking forward to the ones related to UV unwrapping because it's one of those things I find to be really tedious.

This is going to sound really dumb, but is it possible some sort of power saving feature kicked in which kept Indigo from using your computer's full computing power after you closed the monitor and went to sleep?

They should combine this technology with sparse voxel storage, so you add detail depending on the statistical confidence of a particular (position, normal, albedo) sample - this basically decides how deep in the tree you can put the sample. In this way, you can really start to benefit from increase...
