BbB, yes, I choose the word "proxy" because what I think about is pretty much like proxy rendering in V-ray. I've never use V-ray though, just know its proxy thingy exists.

Borgleader, you are way ahead of me :D SmartDen, What I meant is that, let say I have a scene that contain unfinished model of a house on layer01, and finished model of trees (with lots of instancing) on layer02. While working on the house, every time I test rendering it take a long time to export b...

[Req] proxy rendering via Blendigo GUI

Hi guys, esp. SmartDen :D I'm trying to create an exterior scene of a house with trees. After waiting quite long time every time I hit "Export", due to tree models, I learned about "sep. meshs". I then move all trees to another layer and export just the trees to trees.igs with "sep. meshs" on. Then,...

Just out of curiosity, what did you use for lighting? Sun sky or .hdr?

1. For me, I'd bevel just the ones that hurts the render not all of them. But for experimental or perfectionism sake, you can always try bevel all of them

2. "Set smooth" to object still gives weird result. Try using "Subsurf" instead.

Hope this help.

I have that kind of problem once in a while on 2.46 but my problem is easily fixed by selecting any object before open Blendigo script. Just F.Y.I.

Very interesting model I must say.

Can't wait to see your final render, with all the light, caustics from the water along with lighting condition.

I didn't dare try Displacement or even SSS on my machine before. You really make me think about it.

Thanks for the inspiration

Oh, I see. My last render was a Rienhard one.

For camera mapping, you might have to play with exposure and F-Stop. No huge sphere to simulate the earth required.

Pls know that I'm a noob myself and don't take my word for granted.

Woodie,
Could you pls post your render? I'm not sure what king of brightness you want (or don't want).

Below is my test render using sun's angle quite close to yours.

You probably need to update to SP2. I'm not sure. But I'm using XP Pro SP2 and it works fine here.

Hope this help.

This is what I got. (Just couldn't help playing this) Thanks carbon and Macrob . I also would like to add that after converting Curves to Mesh, we could remove doubles before hitting export. Without doubles removed, it took about 5 mins. before the <WARNING:Ignoring degenerate triangle> disappeared.

Islands in UV mapping? Now it's time for me to learn new things.

Mostly, I just use the cube UV projection and such. Never really unmapped any complex model before. Hopefully some power user can give us more informative feedback.

Continuously learning from you guys. Thanks

Sorry SmartDen, I'm lost. Did I miss something about the UV mapping (apart from your explanation on the first page)?
