Firefly problem

I'm getting some very annoying firefly problems on this render. The clear case is s diffuse mat blended with a specular mat. The black is a diffuse blended with a phong. I'm not sure what the problem is but it certainly seems to be worse with MLT.

Using indigo 1.1.17

adding all these options makes it harder to automate the processes neo0. I have a set up with WUOSB (wake up on standby) that allows me to run renders at night when I go to sleep (my computer is in my bedroom) and shut the thing down before I wake up in he morning. More of the comfort options would ...

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I think indigo already does, but maybe your exporter doesn't support it yet, but I know skindigo does

when you want something to have attention then use a displacement because it looks better (it actually modifies the geometry of the scene before it renders, but the bump does something else (still not sure!), but in certain circumstances bumb mapping doesn't look as good as displacement, so If your ...

thanks msu! I think that I've seen that thread before but didn't really take much notice at the time.

I'm not actually going to use exit portals now because I realise that the scene that I was doing had trees outside the window, but I'm sure I'll find another instance to use exit portals!

using exit portals

I'm able to get the exit portals to work (I can see through them and stuff and the normals are facing inwards towards the windows, but I find no noticeable speed increase, in fact it decreases the render speed by about 5 times! Are there any tricks to getting exit portals to work efficiently? I'm wo...

that's a big ask neo0 don't you think? You can't really expect that to be top on the list; function first then, basic look, then maybe fancy stuff like this (that's my view anyway)...

yeh it does have a slider gui, but neo0 is right in this case (as far I can tell), there isn't a slider for blending materials, but don't you think you should request this in the skindigo section neo0?
