Re: First OpenCL benchmarks test on Mac

I guess more memory isn't needed as you wouldn't transfer the whole processing to the GPU but instead
certain parts of it as ray intersection and KD-Tree for example. Of course if you wanna let your CPU sleep
and your GPU do the whole work it's another story. ;o))

Re: Some new shader stuff:

Realy cool :) I see dirt shader like some sort of ambient occlusion, that you could blend and make dirt texture maps appear where the ao is... would be cool to have :) Yupp, that's how I would explain it too. Maybe a dirt shader needs a few more options tho. Cause I'd need it to be possible to have...

Re: Render problem

At the left side, some part of the closet under the sink got bigger?! and at the right some parts of the syphon is disappered?! whats the reason of this 2 strange things? You scaled the object and/or transformed the pivot. Reset Scale and Transformation and it should just render fine. ;o)) take car...

Re: First OpenCL benchmarks test on Mac

Erm, ... David "Dade" Bucciarelli, a dev of luxrender, did a quick OpenCL version of the Mandelbrot Set while he is porting smallpt to OpenCL too. Smallpt is a GI renderer in 99 lines of C++ by Kevin Beason . Take a look at the result and the video and then start to pray ... 8) take car...

Re: @benn - You've got PM

There is still this annoying problem that I won't get any info about PM's! I don't get a popup anymore nor do I get an email and it is bugging me coz I get questions about stuff and don't even know that I was being asked. So it's like I do ignore people on purpose. :P :D ;) Please fix it soon as it'...

Re: Maxigo 2.0.12a (updated on 17.oct 2009)

Erm, ... sorry to bump the thread. I've another request I forgot to write in the last one. I do need Indigo's subdivision option for objects really bad. First I thought you could put it into the material without using displacement, after another night I found it better to add it as modifier. So I su...

Re: Site keeps going down

Yupp, noticed that too. I'm wondering if the material editor with its db connection
could be the culprit. Should be easy to spot in the server logs tho. ;)
