Subdivisions didn't change much though I was probably doing it wrong. I ended up finding a higher quality sphere. The balls from small to large are glass, red wine, wax. Cooked overnight to remove noise but was 'good enough' after an hour or so.

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
I had just grabbed the sphere from google's warehouse. So it was already pretty low quality.Borgleader wrote:Increase the subdivision amount? Or wasnt there a "built-in" sphere primitive?

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Here is one I just did to mess around with some materials. Anyone have any tips on how to make the sphere's more spherical? Any other input?

Re: Lighting/Rendering Single object
Type studio light on the bottom right. I'm shure you will find interesting things. Thanks, I didn't even know exactly what to search for. I'm messing around with some of the configurations I found. Still trying to learn the power and efficacy settings but I think I'm figuring it out. Doing it right...

Lighting/Rendering Single object
I have an object that fits in a 1' 6" cube. It has brushed aluminum, transparent acrylic, and some shiny metals. I have it sitting on a box with a wood material. How would you go about setting the lighting and render settings for this? I understand how the lighting and rendering settings work (or at...

Re: Wireframe Lines Coming Through
I'm messing around with that bump map, thanks! If other people have made successful materials, why do they not upload them to the materials section? I know for some renderers, their materials libraries are HUGE. Is it because indigo is relatively new?

Re: Wireframe Lines Coming Through
Did you tried what Meelis said: Go to skindigo material editor/brushed alumini/material attributes and set the bump map to none because there is actually a shader on it. That should work! I reinstalled Sketchup and the problem doesn't seem to be there or carry over to other materials. It still appe...

Re: Wireframe Lines Coming Through
Okay, so I am now completely confused. It does it with just about any material besides a diffuse. I made a new drawing with a similar shape and same thing. Should I maybe reinstall sketchup?

Re: Wireframe Lines Coming Through
That seems to resolve the problem. Thanks!!! Does that slow down render times as there are more faces? I guess I don't quite understand what Smooth/Soften does. edit: Nevermind, that didn't do it. I even opened a brand new sketchup drawing and made a similar sheet with similar results. I am thinking...

Re: Wireframe Lines Coming Through
I installed the Fredo6 plugin but that did not solve it. I've attached the original file. The materials still need some work but I haven't bothered too much until I fix this problem. I am using the Brushed Aluminum material from the gallery and when it is stock, it is even worse. Once I tweak it to ...

Wireframe Lines Coming Through
I am trying to render a metal panel (among lots of other things) made from brushed aluminum. When I run the render, I get some weird lines showing in the plane of the panel. They seem to be part of the wire frame though there are no lines at those locations. I think they are some part of the geometr...
