Re: A natural situation
Hi Silverwings. Thanks for your curiosity, your time and your explanations. This is a shot with path tracing bidir. Surprised. Some caustics are expected... But the bubbles look realistic. Now I`m able to recognize they... So the resolution for this pic will rest till the 4 version is out and I`ll ...

Re: A natural situation
That last one looks really nice. I was really curious what prevents the in my opinion realistic behavior of the air bubbles. So i also did a test. Sorry for ripping off your scene. I only will post it here :-) Seems like its just a really really hard thing to render. You can see caustics begin to ca...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
Very nice sir! 8) Could you share a little on your camera settings? I've never managed to achieve those nice big bokeh that you have here.. Sure here you go: White Point: E F-Stop: 8 Aperture Diffraction: ON Aperture Shape: Image (I used an image found on google searcvhing for "Bokeh Map") Tonemapp...

Re: Mysterious happenings
Hi contegufo: I think its not a problem of the calling. Its a sampling artifact that will vanish over time. Just a general thing. It would be really nice if you would provide more information to your renders. The more information you provide the better users like Zom-B can help you :-) What would be...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
Nice one - the subtle CA sells it perfectly. :) Thanks. I really appreciate it! Nice one Raphael! If you want to push your hardware to the limit and also create some interesting look for the glass try using cauchy b for the glass material (value of lets say 0.001 to 0.003). This will add the color ...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
I still find is fascinating how great simple objects (especially glass) can look with indigo.
Really sexy
As always small color and contrast corrections in AfterEffects.

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
@ Oscar J: "For a guy with a portfolio like yours, you come across as incredibly down to earth and humble." Just because I have a couple of good rendering on my site does not make me king ;-) Thanks I am quite happy that I come across this way. As for your render. Hmmm that is really sexy. I like yo...

Re: Intel with Thunderbolt 3 video cards and external USB-C.
I really like the Idea that something like this would allow me to travel with my laptop and still have a reasonable amount of render power that I can take with me. This development is very interesting especially regarding the full GPU support that Indigo 4 will have. I really see potential there (an...

Re: Raphael Request Thread
some of this got me thinking - I've been doing a lot of texture-based ISL materials lately myself and so I played around with the idea of adding and multiplying textures. this would obviously be better if implemented with a more user-friendly ui set up with actual layers, but it is possible to achi...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
Please forgive all my questions: What application do you use to do your tone mapping in 32 bit mode? Photoshop seems very limited in that area. I've trying to get into 32 bit post pro for a while now, but Photoshop does a terrible job with tone mapping (unless I'm missing something). Are you using ...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
Sorry I should have been more specific. I saved a untonemapped EXR. With any renderer I use I use it linear. If I need tone mapping I do this later in post. So for all my renders I have done in Indigo this far I have set the tone mapping to linear and the (Pre)Scale to 1. Getting linear results out ...

Re: Some Shader Questions as Falloff Shader, Mix two texture
Hi there. I´m glad this thread had not caused a fight. I can very well understand thesquirell´s position here. If we had unlimited resources rendering on atomic level of detail would definitely the thing to do. It would give the most realistic results and it would be awesome. Indigo seems to be real...

Re: Silverwings Render Corner
@ OnoSendai: Thanks for the tipp! I will keep that in mind! I just used an RGB spectrum to get that nice tint of SSS where the shady parts get more orange colored :-) @ Oscar J: That looks much better! Thanks. I still kind of like both :-) There's some jpeg compression hurting my eyes though. Do you...

Re: Some Shader Questions as Falloff Shader, Mix two texture
Hi thesquirell and thanks for your really nice reply. I hope you do not get angry with me of I post screenshots of different render engine here: This is a screenshot from Thea. This feature manages how the materials "exponent" behaves at the grazing angles. Micro_Roughness_01.jpg Not with Indigo! Ev...
