Point taken. I'm sure nobody has any hard feelings - I don't. It is cool to see a new face.

Here's the code. I can't find anything misspelled, but I could be wrong. If you want I can post the rest but considering it works with this block commented out, that may not be necessary. (I also tried using a 3ds file but I got the same error.) <!--Neptune--> <mesh> <name>neptune</name> <normal_smo...

[Resolved] Invalid boolean value

I'm getting this error when I try to use an .obj mesh: Invalid boolean value I can't seem to narrow down what's causing it. I've tried several different obj files, with the same result, and I've reviewed a lot of posts on test 3. Also, the scene works with the obj commented out. (I'm using .7t3 with...

RTFM. Dont bother the man for trivial things. Go back to 06 please @Deus: Don't you think that was a little harsh on a noob? I don't think the forums are here just for the pros to wax philosophical about the merits of different APIs. I thought they were also for helping people out. @Slobodan: There...

wonder where the remaining screws came from
So often the case!

Seriously, though - an old Dell is probably caked with dust. Good idea, manitwo. Also, make sure you get it out from in between any heat sink fins you can find - not just cpu but northbridge, gpu, ps, etc.

Download this video to watch a true blender master (Andy Goralczyk aka "@ndy") model an awesome alien head at the siggraph conference. The more you use blender, the more the interface makes sense. Give it some more time and maybe you can model as organically as Andy. http://mirror.cs.umn.edu/blender...

How do you know that the issue is heat? With the subject of overheating we have the luxury of being objective. This website answers some basic questions and provides a chart of cpu max temperatures: http://www.heatsink-guide.com/content.php?content=maxtemp.shtml Here are some links to apps that moni...

I like the old one a lot too, but I also support the new one because it would be nice have a simple vector image for watermarks. So I don't think it should really be an issue of old vs. new - just a different logo for a different application.

Is that what you're thinking radiance?

Actually kosmokrator more closely means "world ruler" in english (contrast pantokrator, "almighty"). kosmo- comes from kosmos (world or an ordered system) from which we get the words cosmos and cosmetics. -krator comes from kratia (ruler, might, sovereign) from which we get democracy (a ruling peopl...

I used to use nuxx as a screen name years ago. I was really into the techno group Underworld and one of there hit songs was call Born Slippy, but the official album version says Born Slippy.nuxx. I never managed to find out what the nuxx postfix meant but I liked how it sounded. Then other people st...

I wouldn't really call it a bug - just something that's not properly explained (except in the forums). Here's what Nick had to say on another post: mzungu's question: So is Indigo designed so that the <blackbody> spectrum type sort of "saps" the environment of competing lightsources? (for lack of a ...

If what you're doing is anything like your post in http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php?t=577 then the fireflies aren't surprising. Like BZ Win said, low light, but especially INDIRECT light, will increase the time it takes for the fireflies to be calculated out. Also, make sure ...

Anything Indigo doesn't find in your scene file, will be read from your inifile.txt. So check in there, too.

Think of the inifile.txt as a way of setting your defaults.
