That "infinite warmup" bug again? I also experienced it several times before... Ono, what might this be all about? This seems to happen if all light sources are pointed to infinity. For example, if I insert meshlight planes and point the normals up, away from the scene, I experience an infinite war...

Just learning how to use Blender's physics simulator by getting M&M's in a glass container. I haven't quite mastered glass. Every time I try to render glass, I always end up with strange artifacts or distortions such as ribbed effects or noise. I've read the manual, read through threads, learned all...

Yep.

You seem to be a novice linux user, so you might want to try a more user supported distribution such as Ubuntu or Fedora.

so I have spent the last.... 4 or 5 days, every night, trying to simulate something similar in blender. Impossible. :( I think I know what you meant though. "Impossible" to achieve these results without suffering hours of frustration and losing hours of sleep. :) Anyway, I'm using a long, sk...

The fluid simulation. Crank up the resolution and it takes forever to process. Hmm, I've seen lots of really complicated fluid simulations done with blender, so I'm sure the effect can be achieved. (I'm making a blind claim here though as I don't have much experience with blender's fluid simulator....

I have spent the last.... 4 or 5 days, every night, trying to simulate something similar in blender. Impossible. :( What gave you the most problems? Achieving the same results for SSS or fluid simulation? I'd like to do something like this to illustrate the SSS liquid settings in the manual, and sh...

neo0, I've been wondering the same thing. Each exporter seems to handle SSS settings differently, so I've had to play around with settings for a long time before finding desired results. I've slowly been getting the hang of it, and have been considering writing an SSS guide for people like me (non-t...

v_mulligan I've had the same problem. (Using Blender/Blendigo.) The problem occurs when I use "Set Smooth" on a mesh (not sure what the setting is in SoftImage). The only way I could work around it was to turn off "Set Smooth" and increase my number of subdivisions. What happens if you UV Map a plan...

I really don't notice that big of a difference in performance. I'm using 1.1.7, and only experience a 10-20% slowdown when moving to Linux via Wine.

Pilantra,

I never had any luck running the linux build of the Indigo GUI. The linux build of indigo_console worked fine though.

For me, the Windows version has always worked extremely well via Wine in Linux. Are you having problems with Wine+Indigo?

time, time, time. It takes time to make a linux release. Thanks for the reply Ono. I figured it did. I was just curious as to why it took so much time. :) I'd do anything to have a linux build of indigo_console 1.1.x. Almost anything... I'm not pushing though. Keep doing what you're doing. Your wor...

I've read a lot of documentation but I didn't find any sss tutorial. I found only some explanation and I tryed for whole day with no results Same here. I've been struggling with it for a while. Linux Builds?

What prevents linux builds from being included with each release. I'm not complaining by any means, and I know Ono keeps extremely busy (and does an amazing job) generating frequent releases. Obviously, building Indigo for linux is more complicated than "make install", otherwise there would be a lin...

Try comparing the two .igs files; export one file with blendigo without automatically launching indigo, and export again launching indigo automatically. Compare the first file with the default.igs file. Do they match exactly?
