Re: Noise Reduction

You could try uploading a scene for us to check? Maybe reduce that car scene down to its bare essentials.

Re: Noise Reduction

I have never come across something like this, so it's probably something you're doing wrong - hence my question. Are you using blackbody values for your lights? The image looks extremely blown out.

Re: Noise Reduction

I have no idea what's going on. Looks like you have some serious problems with your scene. I think you need to attach a description of how your scene is set up and lit.

The "time till next update" ticker counts down very quickly. Is this normal?
i want faster updates ;) it seems 4.4.7 was in progress ~2 month.

It included some major new features though. You would prefer smaller incremental updates?

Re: Render Engine Comparison - Blender

Ok, so why compare a denoised shot with the others? Also, are you sure the Luxrender shot hasn't been denoised? It looks very blurry.

Furthermore, it says 7 minutes at the bottom of the Pro-render screenshot, though you stated 15 minutes each in the opening post...

Re: Render Engine Comparison - Blender

I don't find this comparison very convincing. A couple of things stand out: The floor in the Indigo shot seems particularly glossy, causing more noise. Also, the contrast in the Indigo shot is way higher, meaning the noise looks more prominent. The ceiling in the Cycles shot looks really weird, like...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.4.7 Beta

opencl multi gpu rendering seems very well improved in 4.4.7. if indigo 4.4.6 had completely unusable multi gpu mode (2 gpus rendering has the same time as 1 gpu rendering), now indigo 4.4.7 is suitable for 2 gpus rendering. but, 2 gpus also do not utilize 95-100% of gpu power. indigo 4.4.6 had aro...

Re: Pavoda Rendering Thread

I forgot to mention: it's a limitation when using OpenCL on NVIDIA cards. I'm not sure it will ever be improved upon, maybe with future versions of OpenCL?

It's not total max, it's individual max. In practise this means something like you can have max 2.75 gigs for geometry, another 2,75 gigs of textures, etc...

Re: Pavoda Rendering Thread

Wow, great work. My only criticism would be that the denoising effect is a bit noticeable, maybe you could render for a bit longer, or add back just a touch of the raw "noisy" version of the image. The wrinkles on the sofa look a bit strong and unnatural. Are you using a bump map or normal map for t...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.4.5 Beta

Bucket Rendering, and denoising don't work on a 2013 imac with the latest version of MacOS installed. Niether does OpenCL rendering. Gives me zero samples per second, and crashes when I try to disable it. Seems like Indigo isn't targeting Mac users? Doesn't seem like a good move as almost the entir...

Are you using arch glass for those stained glass windows? Is there a noticeable difference if you turn that on/off?

Re: New Interior Visualisation - Comparison opinion

I prefer the sunshine one. Zom-B made a good suggestion - there are also other HDRIs that might throw slightly less sharp and contrasty shadows into the interior (it slightly interferes with the interior design.)
