Realistic fire

Hey guys,

The title says it all, I've been searching on the forums and I found some interesting things.
But none of them were really spot on.. Especially for use during daylight, I'll also post some renders
when I get the time to play with it :D

Re: New double sided thin material - tests

I have been waiting for this a long time! :D This whole workaround with blending materials and such weren't my bing bang of stuff

Now add a fur/grass generator and I'd find Indigo the all in one solution =D

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

@ dcm, when will you finally admit you're just taking pictures  Besides that, excellent work :D @ Mor4us, thanks for posting the wireframe! Useful to see this, I'm that kind of person who would just leave it as is or model everything, but doing just a part seems to be very effective

Re: Materials & lighting competition winners

Great work Pibuz! You really did a great job, you just blew my socks off with those renders! I really like the little lamps you added in the darker one. You really deserved it! And also congratulations to Zom-B and Mor4us, I really think Zom-B has a very nice material and scene setup while Mor4us ha...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

@ Pibuz, nice improvements! The room is getting a lot better right now, maybe change the camera a bit in focal length so you can see the bottom of the chairs. Very nice white floor material! I also had this idea but stepped off from it as I'd have too much white in my scene.. Loving the bookshelf th...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

"I'm going to get disqualified for this".. I would say you pushed the changes to much yes... Anyway, great couch... why not with pillars and original windows?! Thats the clue about that... you simply do a own interior with the same aspect ratio ^^ The architecture hasn't changed, it's still the sam...

Re: power pole/isolator

whoa whoa whoa :O That weld is insane :O the rust is very impressive indeed, maybe add some large rust patches, damage confirmed bird poo? :) Yeah, thats a good idea, thanks :) Very nice modeling! Love the 'overkill' that goes into this! Btw, when working on something I notice many times that nuts ...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

You WILL get disqualified but it's so cool! :D Tell us sketchupper some more please: how do you manage the heavy couch in the scene, for example ;) Is that an external OBJ? Does it come from a collection? It is a great start, jokes apart I'd love to see you in the competition :) Haha I really hope ...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

@ fused, maybe you should also add in the first post that my file doesn't include furniture. Done :) Okay cool, btw, I only changed the size of 1 window and I interpret the pilars as a woodworked frame around a rough pole. I found that the room had a similar layout found in many loft-type condo's m...
