With the rendering settings inside the file I would like to see indigo not require the ini files. It could be setup so that if these files are not found a default setup is used inside indigo until it finds the rendersettings in the xml file.

SDL script instead of XML

Just a thought but it would make indigo much more powerfull if it's input file type was a script rather than XML. I have used povray for some time and know how valuable the SDL is. It would be good to us a javascript style language. The shader system could even be built into the scripting language u...

I use alt+F4. Works just fine.

I use a c++ program to build my scene and output the XML file then calls indigo to render. When I am ready to end the render I hit alt+F4. Indigo goes through its last bit of shutting down then it ends.

It would be real nice to see some of yu great indigo artist put entries into the IRTC.org contest. It is already established and there are many people that view that site that do not know of indigo.

Re: Indigo vs Maxwell
Which render is faster?
Maxwell. But for $1000 and a team of programmers it should be. Indigo is much more flexible because it is free. I can put indigo on every computer I have and set it to rendering. If I had enough computers it would be faster than the Maxwell. Indigo s...

Where does <bidirectional>false</bidirectional> go in the XML file? The <rgb_absorptivity> does control the color of the glass. Mine is set to absorbe green and blue making it look red. glass1 below looks good but fails to show reflections of the env_map or the ground below it. I increased IOR but I am still not getting exactly what I want. The transparent flag is a Boolean. How do I adjust the level of transparency? <?xml version="1.0" standalone=no> <scene> <renderer_settings> <w...

transparent and reflective

I am using indigo_06_test1 and I am wanting to make a glass ball that is only partly transparent and is reflective. Can transparent materials also reflect?

I would be like a mix of phong and specular transparency.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I look forward

I am glad to hear of an XSI plug in. I have been trying to find a simple way to move my work from XSI to indigo. Thought about using a stand alone converter for the dotXSI files. I am sure however that you are doing this for XSI 5 and I do not have it yet. I am still useing 4.2 and have found that t...

Shaders would be most important

If this poll is to help decide where to spend time programming the shaders would end up being the most important. With the right shader functions and tools SSS could be done as well as the alpha textures. If the shader language is capable enough it can even do things the renderer could not. As an ex...

env_map

I seem to be having troubl with the env_map. I can setup a scene with a plane and two spheres as well as an env_map pointing to an exr file but no matter how much I push the gain I get a black image. I have the version 5 of indigo that is currently from the download link on the home page. I am most ...
