Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark
I'm just surprised to see so much difference in Nvidia favor with GPU of the same recent generation: AMD RX 480 - 14nm Polaris GCN 4.0 architecture and GTX 1060 - 16nm Pascal GP106 architecture. Maybe as you wrote it's just Nvidia finally catching up in this sector also, after years of focus on DX p...

Re: IndigoBench - Indigo CPU and GPU benchmark
Posted my bench I noticed the new AMD Polaris RX480/70 did not shine as usual on OpenCL bench vs Nvidia. Some missing optimization from AMD or from Indigo bench side? What benchmarks are you referring to specifically? Available OpenCL benchmarks was and are very few. Just remembering Compubench or ...

Re: Mac future: Metal, not OpenCL...
This is a topic I need to better understand. AFAIK OpenCL does have different goals vs Metal or other graphic API, generic compute vs interactive graphics. Metal, DX12, Vulkan does have all some form of Compute Shaders that allow to perform some computation, I suppose they enable features similar to...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Nice for my iClone tests, so I will not need to manually change the glossy transparent materials anymore.

Re: nVidia 1080 GTX announced
From first leaked OpenCL performances didn't appear GTX 1080 it's a so exciting release
http://videocardz.com/59951/nvidia-gefo ... nce-leaked
10% better than Fury X and 12% better than GTX 980Ti it's not a game changer IMHO

Re: New AMD card
With the launch of the new AMD Vega 10 and 11 anticipated to October I'm curious to know the OpenCL performances of these cards that are supposed to have about 4000 and 6000 stream processor.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
Testing the render of the attached grass pack I did got this error. Exception while advancing OpenCL PT: clEnqueueNDRangeKernel failed for kernel 'l1lllll11ll1l1l111l11l111111lll11': CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES The render simply hangs in building the kernel. The GPU RAM was at 500MB over 3GB available. Driv...

Re: Missing materials FBX
At least these are systematic errors.
A problem I have in resetting the Glossy Transparent unsupported material into GPU render: any way to search a material by type and not only by name? Check one by one by hand it's a long task.

Re: Missing materials FBX
You're right, using custom export path no material problems, this is strange.
Want to know if you have had problems with skin and hair materials.
The first one was transparent in C4D, the second one was translated into Reflective in Indigo.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta
I think a new Cindigo version is coming soon. :) I can't also find a workaround. Tried to force GPU rendering every frame, but at the fourth one I did receive an error message stating the GPU render mode is enabled but no resource is selected. My GPU was in fact selected as OpenCL resource. Attache...
