Unashamed self-promotion...

I haven't posted any work for a while, but I got some good news lately to cheer me up while I wait for the new Blendigo. My image, Sci-Fi city, made it into the exhibition pages of 3D World in the latest issue. Not as the image of the month, of course, but still, it's a start. Here's a huge scan of ...

No prob. It's the mat from the mat gallery minus the diffuse texture. Works with any colour but even then, it may look a tiny bit worn out owing to the exponent map. Otherwise, I second Borg's advice as long as you don't need anything too low res. You might also want to check CGTextures.com. I used ...

I can't answer your question. Just wanted to say it's a damn fine image you got here! But get rid of the blurry leaves outside. They don't do the rest of the image justice.

I think your bump value is way over the top. This, no the high IOR, is what makes your wood look like sandpaper.
Is the plastic wrapper for the gum really a thin volume? Right now it looks more like a solid piece of glass.
Apart from that, I think the second scene is clearly an improvement.

It's nice, but the camera movement is a bit abrupt, as in your previous animation. Is there no way in SU to smooth the camera's IPO curve or draw less angular paths?

Thanks Smarty. That's a great start. There's no point going too advanced on the exporter yet anyway since a lot of 1.1.7 is still in flux if I understand Ono correctly.

Enjoy your well-deserved holiday!

Thanks Kram. Yep, but that does leave me room for some genuinely "fantasy" images later down the road, doesn't it? ;-)
