Re: WIPs: CTZn

Thank you ! The flames are too big, there's too much heat but it didn't bother me too much for a second animation test.

The good thing is that it is supposed to light like a torch would, I'll illustrate this next. Sorry for not sharing the video in a more convenient way.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

Useful info Oscar, thanks. I found out that the fastSSS material was unproper for fire rendition because it can not be airthin. Now I know why !

I'll be investigating the medium part now.

edit: Indigo is not saving the medium's <fast_sss> tag atm, but it is reading it if present.

Re: WIPs: CTZn

Attached an actual MP4/AVI file with a false extension to fool the website's limitation

Rename to the suitable extension for visioning. Worth 2s of video (53 frames).

oh wait
<verbose>true</verbose>
e: Looks like it is broken, if it was meant to do what I expected though. Same output happening when set to false !

Re: Managing Render Queue Light Layers

You would need an advanced text editor with support for 'regular expressions' (wildcards), something tricky to handle for beginners (including for myself). There are such free programs though. Better off exporting again ?

Re: [REQ] verbosity level control

Nope that's not what I meant, I found that Indigo was throwing a warning where it would have raised an exception in earlier verisons, and I'm fine with the change ! I have a grudge against Warning: Light 'RaySphere' contained in more than one medium, forcing empty/vacuum medium. being printed hundre...

Re: WIPs: CTZn

48th frame of a torch lighting up, with correct flame collision. At this point the issue with too many warnings output is killing the effort, I'm left to hope that it would be much faster in console mode. I'll be sharing the video soon.

[REQ] verbosity level control

From 'stop at the first warning' to 'brute load the scene' (ideally). I'm just interested in warning suppression really, since Indigo standalone throwing hundreds of thousands of warnings per frame is eating up most of the frame production budget, in an exponential fashion as the scene complexifies(...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

Have updated all download links in the first post to v4.0.36. Thanks, veeery nice changelog ! There's just this point, generally speaking though: * Not writing some XML elements if they have the default values - in <mesh>, <model2> etc.. Please keep in mind that Indigo's output is the main, if not ...

Re: WIPs: CTZn

24h tripping with flames, I reverted from textured emission because rendering flames is already a complex system without that, but I will need textured emission (of fluid data in Maya) for a correct collision of the flame with the torch. Attached the same frame rendered twice, one with both absorpti...

Re: Displacement Problem

Indigo will stitch edges marked as smooth during displacement, that's the one way I know of. I named the option 'stitch edges' in melti (former mti rebranded, say). What it does (the melti way) is set all edges to smooth before saving the obj file, then reverts mesh to prior state.

Re: Displacement Problem

Hi, it seems to me that your geometries may have stranded faces that should be deleted, ie the mesh be cleaned. Or, you didn't remove the planes that served to build the volumes smh idk. Redo volumes in case of doubt. Stitching angles depends of the 'smoothing' value attached to them, they will rema...
