Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Some more classic Nordic design. Poul Henningsens PH-lamp 4,5/4 from year 1926.

Re: The great Indigo glossary thread..

Wiki-site: a way better way of doing this. No, but seriously. A good wiki-documentation site would be great thing to have, as there's lots of random bits and pieces of information and tips and tutorials and stuff about indigo here on the forums. Having them all in one well interlinked site would hel...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

While waiting for my new computer, I modelled another Aalto's chair. This time it's Chair 41 "Paimio" from year 1931-32

I'm an architecture student, and it's good to have some classic furniture for visualisations...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

The darkness and the saturation both come with the response function. So no post processing here. I'll render clean version later - i've ordered a new computer, so it'll have to wait for it.

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

I started modeling this as a prop for larger scene, but it ended up looking pretty good, so i thought i'd post it here. I like the graininess + Kodachrome 64CD camera response function, it gives it kind of old-fashioned look.

The design is Alvar Aalto's Chair 43 from year 1937.

Shouldn't it be lower IOR? Glass is about 1.5 when water (or Sprite...) is about 1.3.

Re: Can't get light bulb to work

How about this? Thats not bad - but still doesn't have the blooming of a real photo I quess it might have something to do with the glass-material. The "real thing" can never be perfectly clear, and those small imperfections might create the bloom-effect in the photos. Try to make extremely fine bum...

Re: Can't get light bulb to work

I quess it's the quadruple pass through glass with bidir that's messing things up. I also rendered a very small sample up to like 20 000 spp with those on and it eventually did clear up...

Re: Blendigo manual

Page 18: "F-stop controls the focal length of the camera." Should be "aperture of the camera". Also the explanation about "macro mode" and "telephoto lens" are wrong. You got it explained better at the "Focal distance" part: "If you have a low fstop, items that are not in focus will appear blurry. W...

Re: Liquids Test Thread

So if your object doesn't exist in real life (you are just modelling something from your imagination, that was inspired by a real life object, like a design for a new cup), you have to find a ruler and measure the height of an existing, similar real world object and ballpark it in your exporter? Hm...

Sun and Sky light layers

When are sun and sky light layers coming to blendigo? I'm doing a night scene, and i guess sun light layer could be easily tweaked to represent moon, and sky layer to night sky.

I know they can be added manually, but i'm not very good at messing around with indigo scene files.

You posted those to confirm the physical behaviour of glares related to apertures, is that right?
Yes, photos. You understood correctly.

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Here's a comparison using the "world" with "Nikon" renderer (D90). The first one is F5.6 and the other F36. It's Norvegian (Juhls') silver with a halogen lamp just inches above.

Error: Failed to load texture

Is Indigo supposed to give this kind of error when the texture files are on different disk drives than indigo itself, or am I doing something wrong? This happened when i installed the latest indigo and blendigo, and tried to re-render one of my older scenes to see the difference in render times. The...
