As far as I understood, in blender, the distance and energy of the sun don't have any effect in indigo. The only things that matter are its place and its rotation (well, I mean the rotation of the dotted line in blender). To get a brighter picture, in the exporter settings, try to put higher values ...

when you're finished, if you share your xml file and textures, i'll contribute a couple of days of 2x Core Duo power... OH that would be great. I can't refuse such a proposition, I'll try to put the files somewhere (quite heavy, ~100 mo). Thanks so much. At the moment I'm adding the last details (k...

another update, 8 hours rendering (with a bit of noise removing). Got to work on the lighting, it's a bit too dark. Anyway thanks for the comments ! http://www.charlesrazack.com/3d/cuisine4.jpg And this is the ref picture I'm more or less trying to match http://www.charlesrazack.com/3d/picture2.jpg ...

the "Ref"-slider (1.0) = indigo's "fresnel_scale"

Code: Select all

I didn't know that. It's not mentionned in the blender-->indigo tutorial. What effect does it make ? I mean, what is the fresnel scale ?

I think the spec value is too high (use something like 0.2), and if you use a texture then your material must be pure white.

small updates: now working on the kitchen. Mmmmh... maybe the renders are too dark and too grainy... But these are just test renders, and it's starting to take very long to have grain-free pictures as the scene gets bigger... more power !

(sorry if this message should have gone in "off topic") Hi, I would like to use indigo as my main renderer, but for the moment the renders take too long. With big projects it last forever on my athlon64 3200... So in your opinion, what is the best solution : - upgrade with a fast dual-core cpu ? - o...

I had this problem ans that was simply because I didn't wait long enough for the export to write the file (when launching indigo).
Also I suggest you edit your xml file with a specialized software. I use xml marker, it's free and it works fine (http://symbolclick.com)

Well the floor is not a single big texture, each piece of wood is a mesh with the same texture but mapped differently.
Here it is if you like.

Reducing the gain works fine, thanks onosendai.

manitwo --> I think the problem came from the settings, not from the bump map itself.

Ok, enough tests now... next posts : pictures !

I had some issues too with some meshes I imported in blender (actually .3ds files, not .obj). So when you import your mesh, do you have multiple layers selected ? If so, the problem may comes from here. Just select the imported mesh, and move it to any visible layer you want (it seems that when mult...

Another small problem with the floor : Here is the floor (simple phong material) : http://www.charlesrazack.com/3d/sol1.jpg And this is what I get if I put some bump map : no more reflections ! The material acts now like a diffuse material... (though it is still a <phong> material in indigo's xml. h...
