Only seems to happen in this scene from this particular angle. Turning appeture diffraction on/off doesnt seem to make a difference.

Re: Indigo 2.2.2 Beta with new material editor

Hmmm, to me the interface didnt strike me as that bad, certainly needs tweaking here and there but i cant see anything fundamentally wrong with it.

Re: Virtual Optics

You could try turning subdivision smoothing on for your mirror material to make it smoother, not sure it would maintain the parabola shape though.

Cool tests by the way, tried something similar myself when i first started using indigo but was way out of my depth.

Re: Creating Lights

Its a material you can use in place of windows, it simulates light coming through a window but without the huge amounts of computation involved with having a realistically modelled window with light shining through it.

Re: Creating Lights

First thing to do is check the scale of your model, if it is not realistically scaled it will be hard to get realistic lighting effects. Other than that it looks as if you should be able to get a similar effect by positioning the sun correctly then using an exit portal material in place of the windo...

Looks like something weird might be going on with your mesh, any chance you could post an offending section of model?

Re: Wishlist

Stinkie, it can be quite tricky getting the sun just where you want it, as you cant see the sun itself in SU.

I remember whaat mentioning something about a point and click sun positioning thing at some point...thatd be cool :)

Re: Wishlist

When you say 'background images' do you mean watermarks (as theyre called in sketchup) or good old fashioned imported images?

if the former, it could be a little tricky as you cant access watermarks using the sketchup API and if the latter, you just need to right click->explode.

Or buy one of these: http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/full_screen_v2.html and pocket the difference.

Re: Material editor reskin?

I dont mind which style you go with, but a couple of things about benns interface:

I like how the 'mesh subdivision' etc. is highlighted, makes it a lot more obvious that theirs other stuff hiding beneath the menus.
Not very keen on the spacing of the top bar. I prefer whaats more compact look.

Re: Wishlist

It would be cool if skindigo could work out the motion blur for sketchy physics animations and apply it automatically.

A little snippet from the manual about hybrid:
"hybrid
If true, direct illumination is sampled with QMC sampling, and indirect illumination with Metropolis-
Hastings sampling."
