sorry, didn't make myself clear. all are external, I'm not using any native sketchup materials. But, the carpet material is not the right size when I import it into sketchup, so I use the sketchup texture tools to resize it the way it should look, but than how do I set the disp map to be the same si...

Now that I am getting used to the new system, it's not soo bad. For me, with most materials, an external will look better in the final render. A lot of times though it is nice to choose a sketchup color and than apply a small bump to it, say for interior walls or something. It seems like a hassle to...

ack, yes, I see what I did. even though the diffuse map is not a native sketchup color, it came in with a component. which is the point that Pibuz is making above. which makes me 2nd Pibuz's request again. Thanks! So, that brings up another question, how do I UV map an external bump? and why is the ...

I second Pibuz's request. I'm not totally clear on how it works now. This is how it seems to me it should work: I import a mat and apply it. Than I open the mat editor and choose a setting, say Phong. I adjust those parameters. Than, if I want to add something, say a Bump, I have to choose External,...

I like it, especially now that you can see the corner behind the stool. Gives a better idea of the space.
Nice lights too!

thanks Kram!

my computer has voice recognition technology, so I just told it that I wanted a transparent mat that neither absorbs, reflects nor refracts light.

than I hit the magic render button that makes all the settings perfect!

easy peasy

graphically it would show the nested materials. So in Pibuz's example above, you would choose Blend than there would only be two choices below, but if one or both of those choices were also a blend, it would show that in a second level below that. So if Mat 1 was a blend, than there would be the two...

Hey, don't bash on us sketchup users :wink: I think I read that neoO uses something else to model and just uses sketchup for the Skindigo exporter. Which, I'm guessing, is why his stuff is always floating, his normals are usually wrong, and he asks tons of questions. And sketchup is really a ba...

Looks good Pibuz! as always The trim board looks a little weird, maybe just the texture tiling. I like that tile mat, is that the free one from Arroway? I think I have that. Are you using all three mats included? It kind of looks like there is a layer of wax or something on it, not sure if that's on...

So, neoO., basically your asking Indigo to have a material setting for something that doesn't exist? You can do whatever you want with Indigo, that's IMHO, the point of having a realistic renderer. You just have to figure out a way to do it. Oh, and those bunch of recent sci-fi movies? Probably done...
