Re: Random GPU progress pic thread

At the very end of this blog entry from April 2015 there is a little reference to Winter in respect to ISL ( Indigo Shader Language). However, you'd have to go to the last couple of slides in the linked PDF to find that in the hiding the Glare Team is working on a general purpose, possibly open sour...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Yep. As I said it's a commissioned project. I will install the lamp in about three weeks in the Autodesk offices in Lake Oswego in Portland, Oregon. I have moved 99% of my mechanical engineering to Fusion 360 because it's free for startups ( although I do own a license) and because it runs natively ...

Re: Simple Renderings Thread

While I've done this for a good many years now, it still fascinates me to no end what can be done with Indigo. The images below are for a commissioned piece. One is an Indigo rendering used to develop these LED lamps, the other one is a pretty bad photo with an iPhone 6 camera. There is nothing cali...

Re: Viewport textures display

I believe ALT-Z toggles between textured and solid rendering mode. IIRC textures must have been properly UV mapped with the Blender internal tools/workflow. You can have a perfectly fine UV map with an Inigo Texture rendering fine in Indigo but if you don't use the Blender internal material settings...

Re: Help with network rendering

Interesting!
So is there a way to get rendering to work without the help of the network manager ?
It's not high priority, I am simply curious whether or not this is possible.

I apologize if my posts indicated that Indigo is at fault. That was certainly not my intention!

Re: Help with network rendering

Just a quick update that I finally got this working. While preparing for a Skype meeting with Ono I tried one more thing I was sure I had tried before and things started working. The host name of the master computer is "iMac.local" and that is also what is shown as the host name in the Network manag...

Re: Indigo crash on MacPro

Apple's implementation of Open GL is notably not the best. I guess there's a reason they have implemented Metal, their new Graphics and if I understand it correctly also GPGPU API.

Re: Help with network rendering

More info. It seems that the slaves cannot connect to the network manager when I use the host name, iMac.local. When I use the IP address of the host - 10.0.1.4 - in the network tab in the indigo options on the slaves then they can connect. This also works when instead of using it as a master start ...

Re: Help with network rendering

@Zeiti That appears to be correct. I was confident I had tried this before, anyway, I can now see the slaves in the network manager. However, the master does not show up. I tried to see if I can make the mac also show up as a slave but it does not seem to be able to connect to itself. Executing '-n ...

Re: Help with network rendering
