I really hate windows.
Exporting works only in Mac os X and blender.app used 1.46 GB RAM for the export.

In Windows i fire up indigo and load the 250 MB igs file --> after wathing the mem usage go up to 1200 mb it drops to 17 mb and gives me this error:

does not make that much sense because we are simulatin camera lenses right? so everything on the side is distorted - okay not when you shooting 1000mm images but lets say F=40mm. would you recommend camera tonemapping? Somewhere I've read that water looks better with camer TM instead of reinhard that makes the picture to perfect exposed.

please compile it for java 1.5 and dont use java 6. java 5 supports generics and all the stuff you will need. I hate creating swing guis because you need a lot of practise and then its still not beautiful code :? If you need a tester write me a PM. I can test mac os x and windows for you right now.

set the camera angle to 180 degress and render a shot of the sky hemisphere - then you know if it is mapped the right way.

yes dougal 1.5 is the same as 5 and 1.6 is the same like 6.

Dont know why they are doing this.
and mac os x tiger has java 1.5 - if you dont have it do a system update? or what are you missing exactly?

what for do you need java 6? java 5 should be enough - I never needed anything form 1.6 but its faster - the java vm i mean. I'm not good in threading and swing but I can code quite well java and i like oop so if you need some help - I will be here too ;-) porting violet to java is a great idea beca...

caustics are really nice ^^ Its not that slow - only 2.x times slower. Without water: 9 microseconds/pixel with water: 22 microseconds/pixel I used cool Coljs tabulated water (with 83 values) and i have to say nice but it absorbs a little bit too much red?! I only have spherical hdrs.
