But it will be very cool when/if indigo does support it :D . Not that indigo isn't very good already

Thats an unusal image, very surreal. I think kram has answered the question on why the glass blurs whats beyond, the other possibilitie is that you have are using glossy transparent with a low exponent which will blur the objects beyond. As for previewing a uv mapped material, the objects in the mat...

Thanks for the feedback guys. Its weird, I spend ages doing a careful model and it comes out all wrong. But then I do a quick little model with no references and it comes out ok. I must admit that this is the 4th dragon I have done since starting with blender, a dragon was the very first model I eve...

dragon head

A quick little model I put together while I was waiting for a render to finish. The quick model came out better than the render I was doing and had spent ages on modelling. This head only took about an hour to model, another hour to uv map it ( I hate uv mapping, its never simple). And I managed to ...

Thats pretty cool BbB, that zbrush looks like a fun program. Your model looks a bit like a young Yul Brynner, like back when he was in the movie westworld. There are a couple of little things that bug me, the brows especially. But over all its very good, much better than I could ever do. Oh and abou...

I had a quick look at your blend file and its a weird problem, your materials aren't being exported. I'm not sure if others foud the same thing. I also got the same dark render at first, turn off extra atmospheric under the enviroment tab and move the sun a bit and you get a lit render. Oh yes and a...

Thats a nice site, but then you always do the most amazing renders. But its cool to be able to see them in one place. I like the look and feel of the site, it has a minimalist proffesional feel to it.

Thats an incredible model, and a very nice render. So much detail in the model. Was there any particular reason for modelling it, or was it just for the challenge of doing it?

I forgot to show the final render. I know it doesn't look totally real, but I like it. It was a bit of a distraction for me, I like to do my own models. But my modelling is still quite basic and it will be a long time before I could model something like that. Oh I don't think I mentioned the plants ...

yep, I'm still playing with this one. So much for it being a quick little render, lol... Ok, here is the latest one, I have made a few changes to the skin material and built a simpple scene around her.. A couple of simple trees with a large canopy over her, I need to make the grass a bit denser. But...

I don't really know if it can export a z depth channel, to tell the truth I had to look up what a z depth channel was. Oh well this one was just a bit of fun

hi again, Macrob the material for the skin is a blend of a phong and a sss material. The Phong has the bump and texture on it and has a exponent of 30 and a ior of 1.4. The sss is a ior 1.1, gain 10 and 0, 0.297, 0.261 (rgb) ( or in indigo terms 0, 2.97, 2.61 ). And a blend facter of 0.3 (phong/sss)...

thanks for the feedback, I have two little renders I did. Testing out different backgrounds and lighting. The first is with a image plane. And the second is using the sun sky system. I like the first one myself, nice indigo coloured sky goes with the purple flowers..I change the colour of the grass ...

I was inspired by ianammo's recent render of a poser figure, so I thought I would go back to something I had been playing with and see if I could get a decent render of the daz's victoria 4 model. I posed the model in daz, exported as an obj file into blender where I set the materials and scene. The...

Ok, thanks for the comments everyone. Especially the crits, it helps me a lot to hear other peoples thoughts. The idea of blurring the env map to fake the depth of field is something I hadn't ever thought of. Its a good idea, thanks CTZn. One day I will finish the model and do a proper render of it,...
