Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Oh thats discussion is really cool. Nice to see so many taking part and also keeping it really civilized! @Silwerwing has chosen pinhole camera that turns of DOF completely so Maxwell have speed advantage here too. Yes I have chosen to do so because I want to strip away everything that is not direct...

Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.0.48

Hi there. Just want to report an error when trying to load a 3D noise in a bump slot. 3D_Noise_Fail_01.png The other thing I noticed (this is not directly related to the Indigo 4 core but to Indigo C4D in general: I noticed that the pictures that I save through the C4D dialog are all Low Dynamic Ran...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Without a real world sample or "example" to match it against is impossible to tell. You could simplify this whole setup down to a light + sphere for example: sphere.zip Here you see that bundling of light I was referring to for the dragon, in this simplified case its even understandable that a part...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Why does it look more realistic? It looks more homogenous, but is that realistic? That indeed is very true. There was a kind of similar thread some time ago on CG-Society. And someone stated there that unless you have a real world example to compare it to it it sort of impossible to say whats reali...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Interesting. Are those rendered for the same/similar amount of time? In this test it was not about achieving the same lighting situation, nor the noise. It barely was about the ray depth. So no I do not think that those renders were being cooked the same amount of time. Silverwing: thank you, wasn'...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Hi there everyone: Yes I can make the scene available. Give me a bit of time to prepare it and upload it, P.s. I am aware that Maxwell has normally a Reinhardt mapping of 0.8. Thats why I set it to 1 for the test. Because I want to compare all render engines as linear as possible. Remember that this...

Re: Indigo OpenCL the fastest PB Renderer out there?

Hi there, very nice to see my tests being discussed here. In terms of "Eneen" that wanted to know the AA settings that were used: Screenshot.PNG I guess thats the default settings. In my personal experience I rather have a clean looking image. I do not care if its a tad softer then what other render...

Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 4.0.48

Thanks Fused for that Christmas present. I am again surprised by the speed of Indigo. Especially the GPU!
Great work there. Keep it up!

Cheers and happy holidays!

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

https://youtu.be/4ldme3vfWE0 Just a tech demo/proof of pipeline/art style for an animated short series I'm using Indigo for. 4 mins a frames with new Indigo 4 GPU rendering. Looks like I'll be dropping some cash on R9 Nano's or possibly Radeon Pro Duo's. My 2 7970's are getting 11M sp/s. I'm guessi...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

Oh nice. I did the same test again.
I now got 10.300 Samples/Sec.

Preparation time was done in 20sec instead of 60sec.

Great work there!

Cheers,

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

I think they're working on the store at the moment, let's hope it'll be up soon. And yes, the kernel builds are quite a bottleneck at the moment, looking forward to optimisations there. By the way, if you let that scene render a little longer, the rendering speed should settle and might increase fu...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4 public beta

Wow this is really exciting. Thanks everyone involved! I just downloaded it and I am quite excited to test it. The Arthur Liebnau benchmark scene needs really long to load. 1 minute for my 3 GTX 980ti But renders incredible fast. 2 minutes (1 minute from beginning of actual rendering) for a clean re...

Re: Cauchy B Coeff might produce wrong results?

What if you increase cauchy B to a value such as 0.005? I also tested it with the measured diamond material you can download. It produces the same effect at the edges. Would be nice to see this fresnel behaviour being taken care of. Normally you don´t need Cauchy B Coeff this often. But if you do i...

Re: Cauchy B Coeff might produce wrong results?

Sorry for being so picky. Yes the Aperture Fix got rid of the coloring. But I still get this stange "Artifact" in the rendering with Chauchy B Coeff. The Silhouette of the glass gets much more pronounced (Marked Green). I think there is something off! P.s. I used the old colored rendering for compar...
