How to render?

This is a project I am working on for a villa in Cyprus. The villa is on a cliff on a mountain and as you can see there are alot of levels. I noticed on the net that people only render specific rooms like a movie set from a film. Do I choose materials for the whole model or do I only choose material...

Re: Arroway Materials

Will make some tests! Thank you! Many thanks for all the replies. I appreciate the help. Very confusing though. THERE ARE ALOT OF VIDEOS ON THE NET AND WEBSITES SUPPORTING VRAY BUT INDIGO HAS NO SUPPORT AT ALL EXCEPT THE FEW VIDEOS THEY RELEASED. It would be good if someone like (ZOM B) and other w...

Re: Arroway Materials

Great. That's one box ticked. Thanks for the help.
I just now need to figure out the Skindigo Material Editor and where to place what where.

Bump, Reflectivity and Diffuse. I will get there in the end.

Arroway Materials

I just downloaded a Wood Texture Pack from Arroway. Each texture comes with 3 PNG's: Diffuse, Bump & Reflectivity. I tried importing them into Sketchup and it crashed. I then realized I had to import the DIFFUSE PNG's only. Okay, that's done. How the hell do I use the other two texture maps? I canno...

"I sent her two private emails, but she didn't want to answer. Did you get them?"[/quote] Ha Ha Ha. Never trust translation software  I thought I was being clever....damn!! The reason why you did not respond to the PM's is one of the following reasons: 1. You did'nt get the PM's. 2. You only li...

Re: What is the best (general) camera setting to use?

What camera film will mimic this? Well, I would sugest you try some out and and get a feeling for them :) There is also this mighty post processing possibility that you don't seem to have on your radar! Before the Lady gets to many credits, the scene is from BBB, a former Indigo user ;) http://www....

Re: Using photography....to improve your work.

strobist.com is a good start and a great resource about lighting photos. Thanks for the reply Indigo100. It's a good Blog. Just FYI the "Indigo 100" badge was awarded to the first 100 people that bought a license of Indigo Renderer. That's not a user name ;-) Yeah, I just figured that out. What an ...

Re: What is the best (general) camera setting to use?

fwiw, my 'product' isn't renderings or graphics or whatever.. i'm a design&build carpenter doing skate(board)able structures.. this image is 1 of 6 being used in a presentation pdf and it does get cropped in some.. Re: Creative flair rendering style....

Eventually the renders will get soooo good that it will be done with one click....like a digital camera.... but where's the art in that :( The Art is the idea, the concept, the choice of visual language and composition of the image. How can you say that Photographers are no Artists at all, they als...
