Re: ISL in pure GPU mode

Of course it will, otherwise adding the capability would be a complete waste of time for a large amount of artists that use it.

Procedural Terrain Render?

I know there's been a lot of talk about the upcoming cloud rendering, which I'm definitely excited for! But I haven't heard anything about the procedural terrain rendering, and I could really make use of that. If anybody could point me in the right direction or give some kind of shader, tutorial or ...

Re: Fire Shader Possible?

possible... maybe, but afaik nobody did such a shader and actually showed it ahere in the forum... May I ask why do you need some artificial fire over some fire Photos/Videos? Using captured images from the real world usually ends up with a more realistic result ;) Here a recent thread with a great...

Re: Realistic looking brushed metal

Adding to what Zom-B stated, the flooring in the actual photograph is far more pale than that of the flooring in your rendering. And because that tube is on the floor in the photograph, judging by the direction of the sun and the overall temperature of the image, that is direct sunlight from a winte...

Fire Shader Possible?

Hello, I'm pretty experienced with Indigo, at least until it comes to ISL, because at that point I have no idea what I'm doing in any way, shape or form. With that being said, does anybody know if a flame shader is possible? Not in terms of the actual shape, but the color gradients that would show i...

Re: First Model with Skin and Hair

are you using Indigo's subdivisions ? they are useful in such dense procedural meshes to produce more geometry because the base mesh can be coarser for a similar result. think 1/2 level of subdivisions, that's orders of magnitude of details more. The thing is that I used Blender's hair particle chi...

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

I pray the GPU solution can really utilize the full potential of a GPU. With complex scenes the amount of time it takes to get satisfactory results with an Intel 4770k is very unfortunate. Hopefully Indigo's pure GPU rendering will really be abler to squeeze my R9 290X and I'll be able to have some ...

Re: First Model with Skin and Hair

Yes, thank you for the feedback! However, I was actually aware that it was too uniform and straight beforehand. But exporting and then importing so many hairs as polygonal meshes takes a lot of resources. Especially since I use a lot of different tools at one time. Because, at the time I made this (...

First Model with Skin and Hair

This is my first rendering of a character with skin and hair. I'm primarily posting it here because (very long story short), my girlfriend thinks I really need to reevaluate the provocativeness of some of my artwork. So I figured I'd get more opinions (:

Re: Refine the image where the cursor is

Hi there! From my basic understanding of how Indigo functions, that isn't really possible. Indigo creates the image by calculating how rays of light interact with the different materials that they intersect with. But light isn't something that acts in a linear fashion. Light spreads in all direction...

Will Phong Ever Get SSS?

I've been having the most difficult time getting SubSurface Scattering to work in coherence with a texture map. The only viable option are Specular and Glossy Transparent materials, but neither of which like texture/uv maps. Is there anyway that SSS will be supported by Phong, or a Phong-like materi...

Time to Come Home

This is just a piece I made for a friend whose daughter recently passed away. These things happen, and I'm entirely Agnostic, there is a part of me that believes that there is a wonderful place and she is there. This is for little Hillary!
