Re: Simple Renderings Thread

Hello guys, I have a doubts about something, I have some flake artefacts in my scene only onto few leaves of trees. I think this appear only on the leaves normal compared to the sun disk. All leaves are in double sided thin material with diffuse material as sub mat (same in front and back) I think i...

Re: Grass

This is very interresting; thank you for these comments. It is more clear for me now. Find here a couple a images to understand how the model that I use in my scattering is. See the picture with the "under-ground" point of view, I added it to basically undestand the grass scatering. Then find the IG...

Re: Grass

Yes I had badly renamed this image file.

Find here something more consistent.
Each images have been render with the same parameters with a linear tone mapping.
The light come from a real HDRI. This HDRI represent a sunny sky.

Re: Grass

The grass materials in the database are not enought to mimic a real grass with accuracy. Find here a test to challenge material on a 3D grass mesh, scattered by Forest into 3ds Max. -the phong material have the same response than the diffuse transmitter. -the diffuse albedo material is ugly. I do no...

Re: sun+sky linked to 3ds Max Sun&sky daylight system

okay thank you for that answer. Could you add a feature to Indigo? I would like offset the power of the pixels from the HDRI, but just in the sun disk. I do not want a general gain, but to add some "light power" for the sun only. Because lot of HDRI images are not created correctly and it is very lo...

Re: Transparent materiality

okay, I exploring a quite same subject and I hope to have some clues to know what's happens. I do not understand why a volumetric mesh do not work in all the sides. (see the picture with the openGL preview). My scene is simply lighted by a HDRI (+7 in the sun disk) The material assign to the fabrics...

Re: sun+sky linked to 3ds Max Sun&sky daylight system

hum,

I obtain 2 differents <sphere> when I export from "Indigo for max" a scene with a day light system applied.

Is that a normal way for Indigo to create a sun-light and a sky-light?
Have you tried to do something with that "awesome" 3ds max functionnality?

Re: [BUG] Linear ToneMapping doesn't work in v0.6T1?!?

Is anybody have some surprises with the linear tone mapping since v3.8.5?

I think I do not have the same image with the same parameters? it could be possible?

Re: Brick material problem (from Material Database)

Can you give us the nature of the polygons themselves? If you add a "multi-sub-object" (2x the same material) to the front, and the left side, you can obtain a strange stuff with the displacement process. If you add a different smoothing group also. And of course, if your UV map is not correctly ass...

Re: Brick material problem (from Material Database)

With the "c" value? (offset)
Less than 0 mean saturate something...
and more than 0 looks desaturate

I do not know what kind of pixel transformation is it.

Re: IndigoMax 0.4.0

Notice that the slate material editor is VERY (very) valuable for materials development for Indigo Renderer.

As a 3ds max user (I am from the old school) I assure that if you test it, you never come back to the standard one!

Re: External .igm file and UID

The goal is to use .igm files as external files. the first issue is targeted around the specular material . If I understand well I have to use: <include> <pathname>my_material_with_medium.igm</pathname> <offset_uids>false</offset_uids> </include> So I have to open and copy/paste "offset_uid" into th...

Re: Fire Shader Possible?

I use a blend mat, with a mask and a flame picture.

It work pretty well if you use the correct emitter values an check the aperture difraction checkbox.

And I think that we can use something with face mapped planes and an instatiation of PFlow-ed something....
