Re: External PIGS?

I have something like that. It is just a tiny software who remove the header, camera, settings, and add <scenedata>....</scenedata> I ask to my team if we can share it, but honestly it's not a "big" stuff. Earlier, I have recommanded to save as "include" and use a layer managment directly in the Ind...

[Render process optimization]

Hello there, I have a question about the processing of an Indigo .PIGS files with Indigo renderer. I have some scenes who take really long time to load and launch itself. This time is spent after the subdividing process for displacement mapping. It is not "subdivision level" only dependant, apparent...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release

Hello there,

I notice that far we are from the center of the universe, more the accuracy have lacks.
Is it possible to have a "Double precision mesh" like in other render engines?

Do you know when can we expect a stable version for this fabulous version 4?

[Polycarbonate roofing panels] hard to render

Hello there, I do not know why but this tiny test to obtain something like the example in pictures below take an infinite time to render, and seems to saturate the proc after 10 spp. I abandoned my idea to use a true glossy transparent or specular material because of that. but a blend material with ...

Re: Emitter Material Questions

You should do not use camera tone mapping except if you have your proper real camera profile. keep it linear. And then, how many lumens or lux send your 150 watt studio lamp? Perhaps you have to calculate the "real" surface of your emitter to be able to attribute a corresponding value regarding the ...

Re: The best rendering engine?

For spectral arch/viz:
Arnold, Renderman and Corona clamp the colors values as a simple triplet at the beginning of the rendering process, they are not spectral.

Thea is a true chalenger.

I think the comparison is possible only with spectral engine, only in "arch/viz".

Re: Emitter Material Questions

Hello, Find here my 2cents if that could help you.... First, know that the "manual" is not user friendly and lot of recent update are not into it. Then, the 3ds max exporter is almost not usable to experiment the true power of indigo. Also you have to be very carefull because the interface of indigo...

Re: Scatter editor test: Forest

Thank you Antonis, But I need a bit more explanation to understand well your method to obtain this nice effect, maybe because I do not use the same exporter than you (you probably use Cindigo)? For example I am very surprised to learn that Indigo have "default aperture maps". Where can I found that ...

Re: [Req] Save items like material (.igm)

Probably most users would use they fav third party 3D software to edit viewpoint's and just tweek it a bit in Indigo. It could be interesting to see if we can make Indigo even faster on GPU's! 8) Unfortunatly, all the exporters are not at the same level today. And the purpose is not to editing, but...

Re: Double-sided thin material thread

Necromancy: Could you explain how to setup the "thickness" or the global transparency of a double sided thin material. Is this the function R_F? ( r_f parameter to 1.0 = no transparency) Because when I try to tweak the transmitance, to transform for example a piece of paper into a piece of oiled pap...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.43 Beta Release

Hi, It is not critical, but I found a new stuff yesterday. I use the RanchComputing renderfarm. They use 3.8.23. So I have to use this version on my workstation to be able to create 3.8.23 pigs files. With the installation of 4.0.43 in an other location, the pigs files from 3.8.23 create background ...
