Re: Maxigo 3.2.1 beta2 for Max 2012, 2013 (64bit only)

Thanks, much appreciated Suvakas. Now that much of it has been rebuilt, any scenes that were made with Maxigo 3.07, are they still compatible or do they need to be rebuilt? I'm thinking materials etc.

EDIT: Just seen above. Nevermind.

To be 100% honest, it looks like plastic, rather than metallic..

Re: August 2012 competition - final renders

awsome work tar_gniK, may I ask how you did the lighting and what was your cam response setting? Thanks; It was quite straightforward -- hid the windows (as advised in the WIP thread) and used a HDRI map. The main camera response settings for the render were: apx400CD, with 9300 whitepoint. But I a...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

@Mor4us balls up close ! Nothing personal, I love balls renders ! I almost choked on my drink reading that.... anyway.. Bosseye, great stuff so far. There is almost an irony in the derelict environment and then the pristine chandelier in the middle. If that was intentional, then great idea! You cou...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

Thanks for the heads-up.

However, using EP-HDRI-MLT, as suggested, scene is much slower. Has dropped from 375K+ to 218K.

Also to add that making the Mac a matte screen was deliberate.

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

@ Pibuz - yeah, I know what you mean, but as the saying goes "If you want something done properly.." and all that... :D @ Fused - thanks for the pointer -- I did look at that before, but removing the windows seems to alter the mood of the shot quite a lot, I get like a very sterile light from the HD...

Re: August 2012 Competition - Materials & Lighting

Loving your images so far Pibuz, last one coming along very nicely. You beat me to the bookshelf idea... As for myself, I wasn't initially planning on entering, and just about to delete the file from my PC, but found myself magically playing around with the (rather messy) OBJ in Max over the weekend...

Equally we could ask you to fix Maxigo, but that's obviously pushing it. :/

Re: easier way to do stones

Well you are going to have to stop being lazy and decide what to do -- Either a displacement map like Pibuz suggested, or model a stone (make a decent poly one in Max and import as obj or use an organic plugin for SketchUp) and then scatter them as instances. As much we would like to have a button t...

Re: Aperture Diffraction Fails...

Just to chip in and say thanks for explaining that Zom-B, I was wondering why Aperture Diffraction kept crashing whenever I tried it... Although maybe my SuperSample level of 6 and 7MP image was to blame...

To OnoSendai, we're really grateful for the improvements.... :o

BlueDark - Theme for Indigo Renderer

Hi all, I thought I should just share a quick theme for Indigo Renderer. I needed something that matched Max a bit more and was coherent across my two screens -- the default "Dark" theme isn't dark enough! Should work for the recent Indigo releases. Install into "Program Files\Indigo Renderer\config...

Heh, nice dcm, I would have said photo if it wasn't for the slightly skewed HDR in the background...
