I think the sss values are a little too low. It is only clearly noticable in the milk, because milk almost exclusively uses sss (almost no absorbtion) the coke could be a little less black, don't know if it's too much absorbtion or too little sss. the applejuice looks fine, a little more sss wouldn'...

Yup, the gamma value should be one. The gamma is pretty much there for one purpose, to transform RGB colours picked in a 3D modeller to intensity-linear display values. For all other cases, such as using absorption values from Jensen's paper, or Henyey Greenstein g-values, each RGB value is already...

Great tutorial. Especially the nodes stuff. add uv sphere (of course you can use indigo primitive, but i like to see what i am doing..) What do you mean by you want to see what you are doing? You can just use a very poorly subdivided sphere and name it "mysphere.sphere" and it will be converted to a...

Can it be that the sss and absorbtion value magnitudes have to be different for 0.8 than for 0.9?

Using my scenes from 0.8 I have to radically lower (maybe factor 10) both settings to achieve the same result in 0.9...

For outdoor scenes you can always use exrs... mpd is not replaced easily.

the invertion bug seems to be related to bidir use...

here are the scenes for debugging and testing purposes.

EDIT: The bug still persists in 0.9t5! Hey Ono, optimization and 64 bit releases are nice, but no use, if indigo is buggy and can't even render sss without bugs...

I think only meshes outside the exit portal are ignored. HDRs and sky are still visible...

However, you would have to tweak the tonemapping values to be able to see the outside AND the inside exposed correctly at the same time!

I think that should be part of the 3d-prog or the exporter... you would have to define GPS coordinates, the exact date and time and the direction where north is in your render (or default that to the poitive x-axis or something else). The rest should be pretty easily calculatable. Haven't found a fo...
