does it crash BlenderToIndigo?
I mean it's really no big deal if you save your blend file before the export, but after all it's a bug, specially for those who are starting out with blender>blendigo>indigo Could you try to export this scene with the BlenderToIndigo exporter from http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderToIndigo (...

Re: uv materials error
With blender 2.44 when I try to export an object with uv coordinates I get this error Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1345, in button File "<string>", line 1405, in exportCallback File "<string>", line 987, in exportScene File "<string>", line 971, in exportMeshes File "<st...

new version
I posted a new version (version 2.52) of the BlenderToIndigo exporter script to http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderToIndigo . The documentation is not updated yet at the moment of this writing. I'll do it when I have some time. Changes: added support for mesh modifiers (like mirror and subsurf...

I see... But with 2.43, it's not a simple to set up SSS as with 2.44, there is that additional Tab ;) I doubt it's a good idea to use Blender's SSS settings for Indigo SSS settings. Blender's SSS is "fake" (but fast) and uses a totaly different technique than the "real" SSS of Indigo. Consequently ...

Re: Yet another Blender to Indigo exporter
The current version of this script (2.43 at the time of this writing) is still beta and not thouroughly tested, but I invite you to test it. The "2.43" has nothing to do with the blenderversion, you use, I guess, but if so, you should try 2.44 ;) This looks very promissing, indeed :D 2.43 is the cu...

This looks promising. I looked at the wiki page, and it looks like the setting for where the focus should be is missing. Or is it something you set in blender? you have 2 options: you can use the autofocus feature of Indigo: enable the "autofocus" button if the "autofocus" button is disabled, you c...

BlenderToIndigo: Yet another Blender to Indigo exporter
Hi blender/indigo folks In other threads I already declared that I wanted to contribute to the blender to indigo exporter. What kept me back was the lack of version control or other kinds of cooperative tools. Another thing was that I didn't like the way the original exporter was written: a lot of g...

source code
Hello, I'd like to contribute to the blender to indigo exporter code, but I can't find pointers to some sort of source code version control stuff. Are the attached zips in this thread the only way the exporter is distributed? I don't feel like merging my working version with newer versions in this t...

Re: Reasons for not going open-source?
But I can understand why somebody would choose to rather program himself than to do the unthankful task to rewrite messy code of others or just to manage... I agree, but Ono could refuse to accept/handle code that is too messy/unstructured. As project leader he could force to follow certain develop...

Re: Reasons for not going open-source?
I think this has nothing to do with being open source or closed source. Closed source code can be equally messy and unstructured. Code quality mainly depends on good design and management of contributions.mrCarnivore wrote:I know the drawbacks of developping open-source can be messy and unstructured code, ...

infinite plane
You use an infinite plane as floor, I guess.
Try with a finite plane or something, I observed caustics show up more quickly without infinite planes in a scene.

Re: version control
some reactions Hmm, wouldn't the latest stable one with the highest number be the one to choose... How do you know which version are stable? Who declares them stable? How do you manage version numbers if there are different "forks"? Ok just kidding, you're right of course. I visited the link ...

version control
Hi all, Wouldn't it be better to use some sort of version control for the development instead of copy-pasting each ones code in these forum threads? I am also considering working on the blender2indigo exporter, but I am afraid that it would clutter/divide the current blender2indigo community more. C...
