Re: Material Preview
Do the Indigo settings in the preview scene have to have stop parameters set, or will the render just keep going if I don't? Can they have an environment map set in them? I'll fiddle around with this when my machine isn't busy, but I'd figure I ask those questions first.

Material Preview
Is there any trick to making the material previews look more like.. I dunno... the actual material? My environment map material (which works fine) is a black sphere. My aluminum material (which works fine) is a shiny black sphere. A glass material is a shiny black sphere. Etc. Is there a way to get ...

Re: Questions to the materials previews.
Question. How did you set up your own material preview? Do you have a step by step?

Ah, right you are.... it's not initializing properly.
Can't seem to cut and past the code, so here's a screenshot:

Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 3.4.17
Any idea of what broke in this version? The only rendering option available with this is to "export" to Indigo and render there, which is not a really attractive workflow. And the lack of material preview makes material editing nearly impossible. I'm going back to the previous version, even with it'...

Re: Indigo for Cinema 4D 3.4.17
Same issue here too. Indigo Render used to render directly in the Cinema 4D R13 application. This doesn't, and there are no material previews - just black spheres. Something is wrong.
Edit - also nothing in the log files here.

Which was posted by Indigo developers back in 2009? Looks like frensel shading to me? Does this stuff work in Indigo now?

Cindigo Materials causing Cinema 4D Lockups
I have come across a few instances of Cinema 4D locking up completely when editing Indigo materials within the material editor. Here are a couple of easy to recreate examples: Create a new Indigo Material, of type Specular. Go to the Internal Medium section, and change the type from Basic to Atmosph...

Re: Cinema 4D Shader Support
you can bake your (UV mapped) C4D Fresnel Shaders in C4D to a texture and use it as you did before! Actually, you can't because the effect is view dependent. But anyway, I'll leave this argument for another day. I have discovered a bug in Cindigo. Its very easy to reproduce: Open up a new Cinema 4D...

Re: Cinema 4D Shader Support
Hi Forgeflow, We will be re-introducing the 'fresnel-scale' parameter to the phong material soon, which might help you a bit. you can use it reduce Fresnel reflectance. Will it be a general shader (like the ISL noise or gradient shaders) that can be used in any texture channel, or is it an effect l...

Re: Cinema 4D Shader Support
if you're staying with physical material setup I actually can't see any need (with few exceptions) for a fresnel... But what you are saying there is that I can't have both. If I want physical accuracy in the lighting of my scene, I have to relinquish artistic control over it. That either I get full...

Re: Cinema 4D Shader Support
Simply past the following code into the code window if you click the shader once to get some fresnel style of effect: I tried it with this: (should be from black at the edge to almost white): def eval(vec3 pos) vec3 : lerp( vec3(0,0,0), vec3(0.9,0.9,0.9), maxCosTheta() ) Result: kerbleh.png The eff...

Cinema 4D Shader Support
I'm messing around with the latest build of Cindigo, and was really excited to discover that there is now support for Cinema 4D's noise and procedural shaders. My excitement abated somewhat when I discovered that none of the shaders that require surface normal information work. This would include us...

Re: Cindigo 3.0.15
exit C4D? When does that happen? ;) I'm curious if it still displays the bug that crops up sometimes where you add a material to an established scene, suddenly Indigo says that "so-and-so material doesn't exist" and you have to try to re-arrange the material library till it works again. I know I'm ...
