Nice try, my mat not well fit under hdri lighting, i can't resolve the same illumination on the glossy layer like in skylight or studio lighting.

Cheers

@neepneep: thanks ! @F.ip2 : Yep, your right, but carpaint is versatile like you point it in your link, my try was focused only on available "features", since normal vector blending of color it's not possible i only try to mimic the glossy/flakes properties of metallic car paint, because the specula...

Thanks for reply, actually manitwo give an exellent decription of the mat, i use one more as color base that give me a greater control, blending mode would be a plus to add more control in this kind of "layered material". Update, new color : http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/3599/im1178888578ov8.pn...

I just have to work out how to do it, probably some kind of local modulation of the absorption coefficients (similar to what Jensen does)
:D nice to hear it

Ok, for the depth try an higher value for <scattering_coefficient_spectrum> and use <glossy_transparent> instead of <transparent> to use an ior value higher than 1 (ie: between 1.3 and 1.5 i think) but there are some energy loss problem with this setup.

Thanks afecelis, i just try a MOI generated object to test the obj support, no design in mind, i think it just an abstract style :) here the xml code and an already old variant render with some fix (render in v0.7t3): <medium> <name>mGreenSSS</name> <precedence>15</precedence> <basic> <ior>1.2</ior>...

Thanks for reply !!

@Kram1032 : Yes due to modeling style i tried to get a sort of metalized plastic like, next time i'll try to make some bump to simulate the mold cut (don't know the exact term)

Hi Slobodan, M.O.I. don't generate material definition in the obj file, curently indigo use only the definition mat inside the obj file and don't care about the mtl file. the best way to get material in the obj is to open it in your favorite 3d app that can surely generate a proper export for you. o...
