Re: Indigo Renderer 4.2.23 Stable Release Candidate

best to check out the Benchmark page and compare by yourself: https://www.indigorenderer.com/benchmark-results The new 2080Ti is a beast beating the 1080Ti by +60% in performance, maybe the lower tier Nvidia 20XX cards could be nice. Besides raw performance GPU RAM is also VERY important if you have...

Re: 3ds Max 2018 - Plugin broken.

Yes, the Max Exporter needs some more work.... issues are possible...
A simple workaround would be to export in CPU mode and activate GPU mode in Indigos GUI once launched.

I created a ticket with this issue in the Bugtracker.

Re: Curious benchmark result

great to hear that this issue somehow got fixed....
Anyway, I recommend to do some driver cleaning using DDU and then install the drivers again:

By this I got rid of 99% of my GPU related issues

Re: Curious benchmark result

Thanks for the info pixie, I updated my post.
Now please buy a second one and test if it works within Indigo 8)

Re: Curious benchmark result

I used to think that the video memory size is summed up (1070 8GB + 1080Ti 11GB = 19GB), but, unfortunately, practice has shown that this does not happen (1070 8GB + 1080Ti 11GB = 8GB). The new NVIDIA 2080 (and upwards, thanks pixie!) Cards have a feature where you could connect them with a special...

Re: How does one generate models to render in Indigo?

Ha ha, I just understood the issue here:

igs stands for IndiGo Scene, not the CAD format.
You need to export your scene from a supported 3D app like Blender (instaling Indigo exporter before doing so).

Re: How does one generate models to render in Indigo?

You are using a ultra old Indigo version, update to 4.2.23 including the needed exporters within and try again:

Re: Curious benchmark result

Out of curiosity: load the benchmark scene in the latest Indigo build and test if GPU utilization is as bad as in the benchmark.

Re: [REQ]Camera anim mode

Yes, I requested something comparable, since I've been in a similar situation: On load of the next IGS in the render Q compare if the stuff you have is maybe similar to the loaded and already calculated BVH, subdiv and so on. Anyway I can only second this request, no matter how its technically reali...

Re: Need help converting big 3DS file to SKP

Hey Ne0.

the issue with your file is that is is made out of ~60k objects, this cripples most 3D Viewports.
I merged the houses into a single mesh, that should help performance a LOT!

Re: 2 uv sets on 1 object?

BTW: I tested multi UV, and it seems to work! See attached testscene

Way more interesting for me at least would be support of the projector Shader where you can apply a different UV mapping for each channel of a material, great to create some complex blends for terrain and stuff

Re: Moving Lights in C4D

Hey roskilla23º, In your car for example a ray that enters the window, hits interior and gets reflected towards the camera trespassing the window again would already use a raydepth of 3. Wouldn't it be 5? A ray passing through glass with thickness would use one "bounce" entering the medium and one e...

Re: 2 uv sets on 1 object?

Hey Tyler,

afaik Indigo does support multiple UVs on single object, but this feature also needs to be supported by the exporter.
For C4D this feature is on the request list, but not included yet.

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.2.23 Stable Release Candidate

it seems that i have 2 suns ( or an extra unknown light source) in my scene : Don't trust the thumbnail, disable your sky layer and see if there is a sunin your viewport ;) Regarding the bright area on the left: since you pushed the sun LL power by x4.8 it is a good chance that this is simply the r...

you're right. opencl is not active - any advice?
I would say you uninstall all NVIDIA stuff and install the latest drivers again.
A great tool to get rid all graphic card drivers and so on is DDU:
