Re: Swiss Army Knife

Heh - I have not used Blender or indigo for quite a long time, as when it went commercial, I just could not afford it. I use Maya now and mental ray is very comfortable for rendering, though I do dabble with Octane quite a bit. Here is a re-model and re-render with maya and mental ray: http://fc01.d...

Re: [NEW VERSIONING] MayaToIndigo JAN-2010

I will be trying my hand with Octane shortly. I think that is the fastest unbiased render on the market (or soon to be on the market, anyway).

Re: [NEW VERSIONING] MayaToIndigo JAN-2010

I for one, feel your pain. I actually gave up Indigo altogether as soon as it went commercial. I have nothing against commercial software, but have always thought the MtI exporter for Maya (not meaning to offend here) was sub-par. I can understand why though, as it must be tough having to involve Ma...

Re: Interior Japan.

Simply beautiful! The only thing that bugs me here is the slight tilt to the camera. It should be either straightened out or intentionally tilted more. Other than that, it is technically perfect!

Yep - just let it run. I would change the money texture too, as stacks of "ones" don't seem too gangsterish...

Too bright and brash?

How about this one?

Nope - I love the brush-strokes in the original! IMHO, the original intent on the first visualization is right on the money.

Re: Interior

Bump in the sofa is still a little big - grain as well. Maybe try a cloth texture? The rest of the scene is real nice!

Re: Indigo 2.2.1

1) Maya plugin development seems to be dormant. Hopefully not for much longer, CTZn and myself are literally on the verge of agreeing formally to work with Glare. I'm just trying to work out some of the finer details of the economics at my end of things, as it looks like I'll have to invest financi...
