I may end up having to scale things differently then :p I typically work in the 1 unit = 1 inch or 1 unit = 1 cm scale.

But I usually work on small things like pens and coins.

If your going to be doing renders of earth I recomend checking out NASAs blue marble website. They have some -incredibly- detailed textures of earth. They can be hard to find and I can't remember exactly where they are on the site but they are there. for the purpose of this post incredibly detailed ...

http://www.nbtsc.org/~rael/blender/indigo/cupboards.jpg 17 hours of rendering and 12,000 mutations per pixel after I went to bed last night I finaly got arround to looking at the image it produced and found this! Modeling of the cupboard is mostly finished, still needs hinges for the doors, and I'm ...

I voted it would be cool, because you could have a quick(er) render of just the area you need to see if you only changed the material for one object in a scene and you had your camera all set up and didn't want to move it. But, it really shouldn't be a high priority, more of a if your bored and feel...

Mine actually originates from one of my old passwords I used to use. I'd come up with phrases and leet-speakize them to use as a password and after coming up with this one I said "Damn! I wish I'd have thought of that when making my nickname!" Now I tend to use it when registering as my nick. It's a...

Well, some modeling and 25 minutes of rendering later: http://www.nbtsc.org/~rael/blender/indigo/cupboard.jpg Just a general test to see how it looks. Going to try to finish up the cupboard, maybe add some plates/bowls or wine glasses to it by tonight. If I'm really lucky I can get some stuff outsid...

Indigo inspired me to try writing a renderer as well. However mine only got to about 200 lines and the ability to render a harcoded scene of 4 spheres with 3 hard coded lights and output to a really basic image file. I suppose I could have chosen an easier project to do as my second C++ program ever...

Internal scale?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that indigo had some scale built into it. I.E. 1 unit = 1 meter or some such. Howevere I can't for the life of me find where I might have read that. So my question is: Does indigo have some wort of scale internaly? If so what is it? And how much do I want to make...

I think this afternoon I'll model a cupboard/counter (maybe with a window or something) and do a render overnight. If I manage to get it looking good by the time I go to bed I should have a good 12 hour render to post come morning, and I'll be gone most of the day tomarrow so I could let it sit for ...

I would expect that at worst it would require creating a file the a little larger than the amount of memory indigo was taking up at the time to render the image, but I've never experimented with writing resume functions so I don't know to much about it.

I'm glad that indigo is staying free for us poor college students, however if a donate button where to show up (I presume I'm not blind and there isn't one already, please correct me if I am though) I would be more than happy to donate to the development of indigo just as soon as I had a little more...

I would also much appreciate this! I like to do large(1920x1200) renders and I wouldn't mind waiting the time indigo takes to do this if I could stop and resume it at a later time but at the moment the longest render I can usually run is about 15 hours which corrosponds to overnight + my morning cla...

Glasses

Just a something I put together trying to model some more complex glass shapes. About 115000 faces acording to blender, 1 hour render. http://www.nbtsc.org/~rael/blender/indigo/glasses.jpg I may take this somewhere may not, I hope to get some work on my other scene done before I really go anywhere w...

I like the plates, very simple but elegant looking. Makes me want to try doing a table scene... Which is bad because I already have an unfinished project I need to work on
