hmmm...not working for me: Vista SP2 32bit Blender 2.49b Python 2.6.2 console output: Compiled with Python version 2.6.2. Checking for installed Python... got it! Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 1, in <module> File "C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender...

Re: Physical lens model

I think you make one major error in reasoning: When looking through a fisheye-lens with your eyes you won't see the effect you await. Also when looking through a tele-lens you don't see a tele effect. The lens you build is a lens for a camera... so the effect is only visible an a projection-plane. I...

these are nowhere to find as soon as the "Specular Reflectivity"-button is activated That's no wonder if you read the Indigo documentation on specular_reflectivity... it overrides diffuse and ior. I know that and it was not my intention to criticize it. :? Its just that there have been two ways to ...

Phong + Specular Reflectivity

There is a small bug in the current blendigo version: When you activate the "Specular Reflectivity"-button, on the left you get a whole new set of RGB controller...but they have no effect at all... instead the RBG setting of the standard phong (RGB for the substrate) are used... and these are nowher...

Is it possible to link materials to objects instead of meshs in indigo? Blendigo can't do it. P.S.: @SmartDen Das ist kein feature-request! Da ich gesehen hab, dass du in letzer zeit wohl etwas unzufrieden mit dem feedback zu deinem Exporter bist will ich nur sagen, dass ich ihn super finde, voll zu...

Similar project with GPUs:

They beat a 3.5mio $ computer with this machine!

PS.: I'm not a fan of GPU vs. CPU.....but in this case the GPU-solution seems quite effective.

I made a pinhole test. (Someone made one some time ago)
The image is projected on a screen, like ono suggested. (look Pinhole.blend)

(Normal.jpg mirrored for better comparison)

You must increase the exponent value to get a perfect mirror. Well...100 IOR maybe in'tt enough for an absolut full reflectiv surface...but 100000 would be an overkill. I think 100 ist enough.

The problem occur when you select a large mesh and then try to start the exporter. I think it got something to to with the material editor...
Just select a small mesh (just add a cube and assign a material) and then start the exporter...and avoid selecting a high poly mesh or the exporter can freez

- absorption color inversion on GUI removed (by SmartDen) Well...the color preview is still inverse. RGB 1 1 0: the preview shows blue and the render too . And i like it like this. But now the SSS color preview is inverse and i think this is wrong. SSS 0 0 1 gives a yellow preview, but the render s...

Your first sentence doesn't make any sense to me...it's a mix of the thin lense model discussion and my remark about the IOR10 enviroment. And i know that the picture only shows the mathematic behavior of negativ IOR mediums. I read something about strange things happen in the interface, like multip...

I agree with Deus about the thin lense model. But the thing with the cube with IOR 10 for the whole szene is wrong! If the air IOR would be 10 and there is a object with ior 1 it would be the same as the air would have IOR 1 and the objekt IOR 0.1 Also this would only lead to total reflection. http:...

Sounds like a keyboard-layout error...the german keyboard layout is identical with the english, except of Y and Z...they're switched...(well most special characters are total different too). You can switch between keyboard-layouts by pressing alt+shift.
