Re: Protoestudios

Beautiful.

And funny - while today your approach is a beautiful and probably the most comlicated method to emulate analog results, it may one day be the only way.

Pretty cool!

Re: Protoestudios

Thanks man, that's fantastic.
It touches me in two dimensions - as a "simple" photograph as well as on a technical level with a truly virtual camera.

Re: Protoestudios

Wow, these vertical lines in the first picture... It really has an analog feel to it, does not look at all like the output of a render engine.
Beautiful composition. True digital photography, thanks for sharing!

Re: Did Epic games buy Path Tracer from Glare?!

Always nice to still see some action here ;-) To me, the render does not look at all like Indigo - notice the interior of the cars, it seems like through the glass just the outlines of the 3D objects inside the cars become visible. That does not look like physics-based materials, or physics-based re...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.6.0 Beta Release

It is really quite sad. Perhaps we should contact the developer(s?) via their new project (https://substrata.info/)? Indigo is such a great piece of software, and can compete even with its slow or completely lacking development. I might give Cycles another look soon... Cheers to everyone, it is alwa...

Awesome!!

And crazy that this kind of "simulation" is possible with a fairly normal computer nowadays...

Re: Alameldin corner (WIP)

Hey Alameldin,

welcome to this forum and thanks for sharing!

Nice WIP. I really like the wall on the right side of the picture - are the details modeled or driven by a texture?
Cheers

Hey Headroom,
what an awesome doodle.
Also thanks for sharing a little bit of its creation - never heard of the software, will check it out!

Cheers!

Re: Caustics on pool

Hi rivera-b, I am no caustics expert either. BUT I would expect that in real life, there would probably be no caustics in your night scene, as caustics happen when a strong light source (=sun) hits the pool from above, causing caustics on the pool walls and floor by interacting with the ripples of t...

Hi rivera-b,

please share more infos about your scene, and if possible an example. Are you rendering with MLT?
And yes, caustics are a bitch considering render times...

Re: Grass render with Skindigo

Hi Alejandro, just guessing here as I have no time to try it myself: Try setting up multiple planes for each grass patch, each one "standing" on the ground (=a green plane). In Blender, there is an Array modifier to do this easily or a particle system, surely Skindigo does have sth comparable... Goo...
