Re: forum
I haven't posted here in a while but I read the forum occasionally and I've got to say that I really like this style! It could be more space-conserving and considering the fixed width I suspect this is only a temporary setup. Btw, the slogan on the home page is (in my opinion) a bit cheesy and (I th...

This may be very individual but whenever a download link is shown in the form of a large image I tend to overlook it. This is probably because some little part of my brain automatically reasons: if(medium-sized_box && bright_colours){ CriticalThinking.alert("advertisement"); Vision.ignore(); } I thi...

Speaking as someone who've played the clarinet for a number of years and have a father who is a former woodwind repairman, the whole instrument looks rather strange. I can't quite see what kind of reed would fit into that mouthpiece and the ligature is put on the wrong way around. Parts of mechanism...

Wow, that is one good-looking, interesting vehicle! Really [various expletives] good work!:D //Start of ruthless criticism The water (?) on the track looks a bit strange, in both shape and color. If it isn't water, disregard that. The car stands out as brighter than the environment. Makes it harder ...

Really nice image! I've certainly seen rusted iron/steel that has almost been as saturated as that. What bugs me is the sharpness of the rusted screws. If they are that oxidized the groves should be quite a bit rougher. A little hint of denting (beveling) could improve that. That, and decreasing (as...

Certainly neat and clean. It's pretty hard to tell any detail from a low-res image like this but the house model looks good. Some minor crits (if you don't mind): The palm tree grows out of a surface that doesn't appear to be earth and it seems to grow through the balcony. If that is water it looks ...

finished Hectophone
Well, you've seen it before and while trying to come up with a good environment to place it in I've learned a lot. Such as the fact that I'm worthless at creating environments. Modelling: Blender 2.48a Rendering: Indigo 1.1.11 Exporting: Blendigo 1.1.10 SW Wallpaper texture made in inkscape, the res...

I wouldn't care too much about the seams as furniture isn't always made using solid pieces of wood. However, I think it would be a big improvement if you'd alter the unwrapping so the cabinet doors aren't identical. The cactus looks very plastic (but maybe that's intended). More of a question than c...

Some good advice Thanks. The material for the shelf had actually got the IOR/exponent I wanted, but I'd left the bump way too strong. I agree about the redness, I'll alter that and try to fix the scales of everything. About the vinyls, the material was a very dark reddish brown with a bump map for ...

Swede, you are MAD! Enough with the compliments. :) That said madswede, your question is a bit too broad to be answered efficiently, what do you want to heard about ? Tonemapping depends on your scene and own tastes, for instance linear may do better than camera with saturated textures. I guess you...
